We will need more troops in order to threaten china. We are not pulling out of Korea. Trump's foreign policy is contain and consolidate, pushing the Iranians out of Lebanon, Syria and Yemen in order to force them to dial down their international interventions in neighboring nations.
The same with Korea and Venezuela and Cuba in order to strengthen our global pull to ultimately push the big rivals of China, Russia and the EU into making peace with us.
Ultimately it seems a pan-American alliance with America in the north and Brazil in the south is in the making with the State Department's shift towards hiring Portuguese speakers.

I tried to enlist in the military in 2014 in NV and was almost immediately told a long list of things in a person’s family’s health backgrounds that would eventually be discovered if present, that if found, would cause me to be denied. Things like mental diseases, drug addiction, chronic illnesses, etc.- saying even having grandparents with issues would make it a waste of time for me. Most people are not allowed in the military.
