To any Muslim, Jew or Christian

Sincere question, why should I believe in God?

Attached: 920x920.jpg (920x665, 114K)

>why I shouldn't reject God?
So you won't end up in hell.

Because God is ultimate truth, light, and life-- the most powerful Spirit bar none. To believe is to seek, to seek is to find, and to find is to arrive at boundless love, wisdom, peace and understanding.

If you believe in god, a creator of you. And this here god dude gave yOu freewill. WHAT THE FUCK SHOULD YOU BE FUCKING DOING MORON!. .fuck sake..

That's it? That's my purpose? To just live and be afraid of hell until I die?

I’m anything but sure of my belief, but living as a catholic helps me be a better person to my family and friends and keeps me from personal vice such as women or porn. Plus, it helps build community

This. If God is real, which I believe he is, there is no reason not to believe in Him. It's why satanists are double retards, not only do they worship the devil, they worship the devil when they believe in the Christian God and angels and saints and stuff.

There are rules to the world. Foundations in which our universe is built on. Even though we don't seem to fully understand how the universe works, we do understand some basic fundamentals. Now one could look at the universe and ask if it was made out of chaos. How such principles could be made? Why does gravity behave the way it does? Why do particles come into existence and smash into eachother? How the hell do they just come from out of the blue? Seems it would break the whole "matter can't be created or destroyed" rule.

There are 2 real big issues in terms of the universe and God. What the hell is with Hawking radiation and what made the universe "bang?" We know that Hawking radiation is a thing and that the big bang is a very supported theory at this point. So to assume the universe came from a singular point, how could all matter fit inside of it? Was there matter outside this point? The fact that everything in the universe comes from a singular point is very supportive of some type of creation because the universe can't be in a stable state as a singular point then just explode one day.

I'm not telling you to believe in ever abrahamic gods, or even pagan gods. But rather keep an open mind about spirituality. For all we know where some kids science experiment, our whole universe contained in a jar and some kids bedroom. If so would that kid be "god?" I think the greatest thing to understand is that the greatest insult to God is to assume who he is and what he wants. We do not know in the acknowledgement of ignorance is the best thing man can do.

Pascal's wager

Yeah, but why the god of Abraham, and not Brahma, or Amaterasu, or Perun, or Quetzalcoatl, et al? No one has ever really given a satisfactory answer for this.

Because it's good for you.

What does Pascal have to say about Odin?

Because you it'll stop you from being such a FAGGOT

You believe in Jesus to troll the ever living shit out of Jews. That alone is reason enough.

Because God is the God of our society and the true God. Strong united religion holds society to standards we haven't seen for almost a century. We cannot rebuild but under what was abandoned. That's why.

Here's the opinion a very articulate ex-atheist. He can make a much better argument than I.
God bless.

Absolutely not you are to live your life as you please and meet with god to discuss how that life went. All you have to do is accept Christ and you are fulfilling Gods will. For Christ is love, christ is humanity, christ is the truth and light in the dark he is not kind but he his honest.

That's getting the cart ahead of the horse a bit. All three Abrahamic religions and their offshoots worship the same god under different names, and have radically different social standards. Culture uses god(s) to justify itself, not the other way around.

OP the universe is full of gods.
The jews just propagate their god through Christianity because Christianity teaches docility towards your (((masters))), and it's more souls to YHWH.
So you're about to get a whole lot of fairweather fascists in here trying to convert you because the bible says they get goodgoy points if they convert you.

This includes the Assumption of no God. There is no way to disprove the notion of Spiritual Beings. To sit think they're smarter because they don't believe in God are foolish to see they're 2 sides to the same coin. As giving good a value of 1 or 0 (existing, non-existing) is still a value. There is still some place holder for the assumption of God. It could be 1 or 0 but the best thing for man to do is to acknowledge his ignorance. We know so little about the world, we can only see so far, we can only fly so far. So it's best we know that we don't know.

In terms of how to live one's life. If there is a spiritual being, I would assume that they at least had some involvement in the universe. the world around you would have some reflection of the spiritual being. So to find purpose or an answer to a difficult question. It is best to look in the world around you as it is the world that which you exist in. The thing is that the context of every situation will always be with in nature around you. So live life because you're here. We know we're here and that there is a world outside our minds. Even if we die the universe keeps moving along It reminds me of this Christian parents who would not take their kid to the doctor because God was supposed to take care of them. Normally the person opposed to this will say that God put doctors on this planet to help sick people. Well in a sense, we have philosophers to give us ethics, metaphysics, and various other ideas of how to live life. One should not have to be required to follow morals because it's sin, one should follow morals because it's the proper thing to do in a society.

So point is, god is Schrödinger's cat and we'll never be able to look in to see if he's there or not.

Only Catholicism is the truth. The rest of you are heathens.

Do you understand how cringy this sounds? Because GOd is GOd and All-almighty GOD I love GOD and GOd and you should love God too because GOd and GOD and God. Like you're scoring points for the afterlife and the more you say God the more likely it is you won't be punished by daddy.

If you are familiar with Jung, this will make a little more sense.

God is the archetype of the Highest, Most Pure, Most Righetous, Most Powerful, Most Loving, Most Good that could ever exist. It is the highest expression of Beauty, Meaning and Transcendence.

If there is anything to dedicate your life to, it would be what we call God.

A lot of neat words to say exactly zero. This kind of speaking only works on absolute grug peasants.

He's real. Believe.

>To just live and be afraid of hell until I die?
One sends one's self to hell.
The Orthodox perspective of the afterlife is something like this: you're going to live forever. The only thing to be decided is whether or not you'll enjoy it. We all will stand in the presence of God for all eternity. You will either experience this as "bliss" or as "torment," depending on how you've used your life to prepare for it.
To paraphrase a quote I read on here by Terry A. Davis (which, ironically, I find to be almost dead-on in this regard), "if you've been putting off all the work you've needed to do, it's going to make you miserable. But when you apply yourself and get it all done, it's the best."
If you detest honesty, truth, and putting your needs after the needs of others, then you will experience the presence of God, and His Love as torment. Perfect self-sacrificing love will not "be comfortable" to the person who's spent his entire life lying, cheating his brothers, who's always tried to find "an angle" and exploit it. The presence of God will...burn.

>Thou shalt have no other gods before me
Why is this the 1st commandment?
The God of Abraham provides an account of the heavens and earth (physical and spiritual realm) that is consistent with reality and explains why there are so many Gods across so many cultures. They are subordinate (or rather insubordinate) spirits/angels/daemons that humans around the world encounter and worship out of fear and awe. This is why the very 1st commandment the God of Abraham gives is to distinguish himself from those subordinate beings and make it clear that he is the one and only God.
>inb4 yeah well of course b/c the jews literally wrote the book and made their God #1
God exists, and chose the Abraham as his contact on earth to interface with. The Israelites did not create God, they documented his works. This is proven with how the motives of God and the motives of the Jews were in constant conflict. God repeatedly refers to them as "a stiffnecked people" meaning stubborn and unwilling to obey/follow him. God had a plan for the Jews, and they blew it. He had a backup plan for them (Jesus) but they blew it. So he said to hell with them (literally) and extended His invitation of "COME HOME, MY CHILDREN" to all people. Of course this made the already stubborn and vain Jews snap and go completely anti-christ, delving into the deeper things of Satan through Rabbinical meditations and writings (Talmud, etc.).
If the God of Abraham was just another man-made God, why would the Jews make him the way he is? Instead what we see is the opposite: A God that is true and independent that tried to bring the jews a long as his witness and chosen people, but they were more interested in personal gain and earthly glory.
Of course this is not definitive proof but considering how long winded such a discussion would be, hopefully this brief overview gives you an idea of the direction such a discussion would lead in.

>The God of Abraham provides an account of the heavens and earth (physical and spiritual realm) that is consistent with reality
Come on, man. That account has been poked so full of holes at this point, it's not even so fahnny joek anymore.

>and explains why there are so many Gods across so many cultures
Does it, now? How so?

Allah is not the God of Abraham. The jews and christians *shared* the same God, but the jews clearly misunderstood their God because they crucified him upon his arrival because he wasn't what they had in mind. Modern jews worship the devil, the inspiration of rabbinical teachings.

It says quite a bit, though not explicitly. Economy of words.

Moral relativists have no cohesion, they live for good feels. You can't rely on them in critical momemts because they are the most fairweather group of all (in the very rare cases where you grew up with them they will change). Believe in a god, have rigid values which you share with those you care about because if you don't the secular world will instill its cheap proxy oriented/disposable values into (You.)

If the world is full of hate, there will be nothing left of the world sooner or later.

God is love, and if the world was full of love, the world would thrive. A world built on love is better than a world built on hate, and if God is love, to believe would be to spread love!

Convert me to what? I know who God is fool. I've had a visitation. And no, I'm not talking about the Mormon's either.

>Allah is not the God of Abraham
Reports vary, apparently.
>Thou shalt have no other gods before me
Nice and clear sentiment, there, though. Good thing there's no way the infallible word of god could be misrepresented by human beings for sociopolitical gain.

Odin is where it's at...

because there is evidence and you need to search for it

>Sincere question, why should I believe in God?
Godfags are insane. You're better off away.

If God exists then God and your personal relationship with Him/it? is all that matters.

If God doesn't exist then nothing matters.

It makes you happier. Also watch Peterson's lecture series on the Bible.

Read the Quran. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Give it a chance, I guarantee you will find the Truth.

Sometimes a change in perspective makes everything line up.
I'll try to explain with an example/metaphor. Bear with me, it is relevant.
Imagine you made a computer game like SimCity. You designed the map, you put little people on the map, you program them with AI and free will. From the perspective of the Sim, is that "matrix" real? Of course.
That being established, now consider the technical requirements of creating such a game, starting from scratch. You need hardware, you need a coding language and compiler etc. an OS needs to be written, daemons created to facilitate background tasks... etc. etc. etc. then you can write the program, then you can actually create within the program.

Now apply that to our reality. What hardware is capable of running the program known as the universe and everything in it? The mind of God. How does the bible say things were created? With God's word: the Word of God executed as a command in the mind of God. The laws of physics and morality are a config file, so to speak. The role of angels/daemons are to facilitate background tasks. The bible and Enoch describes these as having specific roles in the heavens to keep reality running smoothly. These are what diverse nations and tribes worshiped mistakenly.

Thinking about it in these terms, much of what God, Jesus, and the prophets attest to makes a lot more sense. Though it's difficult for us to comprehend on the scale of our reality, we can recreate it in our virtual realities of computer programs. Our ability to do this (imagine, create) is due to the fact that God made us in His image. God modeled his own mind as a creature and named it man. That is why we are most beloved above the angels.

outstanding

The books and religions are made by man; inspired by God but made by man and therefore all are blasphemous to God.

Seeking a personal relationship with God through all the religious texts and ways is perhaps better.

All the names come from the Planets and their consciousnesses which have an affect on humanity--as above in the heavens, so to in the waters of our consciousness. However these are the gods and are different to God.

Holy fuck that ID

Because we are literally living inside a biblical prophecy. Understand that the Earth is flat. You've been lied to your whole life and most of everything you know has been inverted. Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation. I hope you'll find your way to him, user.

The existence of god does not give existence objective meaning, the meaning remains subjective to god because god himself cannot preexist his own existence in order to give himself meaning. You're just deferring the lack of meaning up one link in the chain and calling it a day, when in reality, god is himself, meaningless. It's "daddy buy me a pony" existential thinking.

Because everything good came to a grinding halt once we stopped.

Love is the answer. If you love sincerely love Jesus Christ, he will guide you to the path of true salvation. Such is the universe.

No

I'm glad you wasted time typing this out, Hans.

There is no hope outside of God, through his son Jesus. You can not save yourself. You can not give yourself eternal life, forgiveness for sins, or even a basic sense of peace in your life. Once you humble yourself and open your heart to God’s instruction you will know why Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
