The Chinese government considers it has too many people. Too many men and too many old people in particular. And they're not very fond of their religious minorities either. They'd rather not have to feed them and try to create jobs for them. If there's a severe economic depression or civil disorder (which is a possibility within the next years or even months), they'll probably make sure it's the people they don't want that perish.

Oh shit /ptg/. I just realized that I purchased two $0.99 pink and blue easter baskets (for egg hunting) from a dollar store here in Stockton, CA.
