This is a frightful chart. Not because of the debt level, no one really understands the role debt plays anymore. The economic rules guiding economies in decades past are broken, but that is also the scary part.
My point: our economy may grow about 2-3 percent this year. At the same time the deficit is going to grow by more than $300 billion. So, our economic growth is almost entirely if not completely, due to the increase in deficit spending.
Which means, without deficit spending, the underlying economy is still too anemic to generate organic growth.
Which means, we are in a house of cards economy that could/will come crashing down if given the right catalyst.
And no blame on Trump. It would have been far worse under the old hag.
But it is what it is and what it is is not good at the moment.
