Gee why don't they look at straight up data on arrest rates for illegals? Because it's available. According to Texas data, illegals are arrested for murder at 1.65X the rate of the legal population. Take out blacks from the legal population and they are arrested for murder at 5X the rate of the black population.

The study is inherently flawed because crime among illegal population groups is notoriously under-reported due to fears of deportation. But it fails objectively by not accounting for the crimes illegals are likely to be charged with, i.e. counterfeiting, drug trafficking, etc.
