But vaccines have saved more lives on this planet that basically anything else.

Some stupid fucking asshole doctor pulled out 21 vaccines, saw they were all safe and proceeded to inject them all into a very small human over a short period of time. This complete defect in common sense (or outright human experimentation) caused irreparable damage to quite a few babies. Its totally understandable that people are afraid.

The idea behind them is 100% sound, a dead virus can get and have the proper response of the immune system to be adapted to a potential threat.

anti-vaccines are assholes who take advantage of the fact that most of society is vaccinated. An unvaccinated society would look like the darkest years of the European medieval era.
Diseases still exist in modern society, diphtheria, tetanus, measles, poliomyelitis... you have probably been infected with a similar disease throughout your life and have not even noticed thanks to vaccines.

Why does it not bring up that measles had a 0.0125% death rate or a reported 1 in 500,000 death rate when not accounting for immunocompromised deaths or cancer kids.
