A year ago I would have told you, smaller. Now? I think it’s getting big again especially with Christians having a lot of influence over US policy. A lot of people especially in blue states are tired of congressmen using religion to make policy.

it's difficult to know
on the one hand, urbanism is increasing. Along with it education. These have a very negative correlation to religiosity.
But on the other hand religious people have a huge disproportionate birthrate.
I would say in the immediate future atheism will increase, but in the long term religion will win out.

which is fine. many of those born to christians will grow up to be atheists. being born to atheist parents is not the foremost source of atheists.
