I was a Wendy's chef making $120k a year downtown for several years. Every day on my way in to work I would pass 20 or 30 of these absolute degenerate wastes of humanity. Every day I would offer any one of them two hot meals and $16/hr to come inside and wash dishes. Not once in 2 years did any of them ever take me up. Was literally throwing food and work at these people and they would rather be a nuisance outside my business and slam smack all day. Pic related.

Years ago there was one of those investigative shows like 20/20 or something. They secretly followed around a homeless guy. He worked a solid 8-10 hour shift begging for money. He looked the part with raggedy clothes and a shit sign that said something about needing money to feed kids or something. At the end of the day they followed him back to his Escalade where he drove back to a single family home, and was later seen existing his home dressed as a clean cut middle class guy with his wife and kids.

I've been homeless and I volunteer at a pretty good homeless shelter which doesn't handle people with mental disabilities or drug issues. We're for people who actually don't want to be homeless. I think the root cause for the people I see becoming homeless is that they haven't had any real guidance growing up and they don't know how to live a good life. This is why they get into bad relationships and don't know how to save money and end up in our shelter two weeks after getting fired from their crappy job.
