You have no idea how great public transport is when done properly. This is a bus stop in Gangnam. Buses go as far as 30km for as little as 2. Smaller "country" buses loop the neighborhoods act as feeders for these buses. It's remarkably efficient. Of course it has no niggers so that may be a factor.

I mention texas because as an american it's nice to meme texas. It's like you guys using quebec i guess. but as a serious answer it's because texas is about the size and / or population density matching most EU countries, so I frequently have to make comparisons between them. It would be unfair to make comparisons between china and Luxembourg, for instance.
See my post here, the US as a whole has somewhat comparative rail in regards to china. it also has more airports (I'm pretty sure, not certain) and, admittedly and unfortunately, an auto culture. There's no reason to drive to the train station and then take a train and then get a ride when you can simply drive to wherever. It's not ideal, but the population is so spread out there's really no viable alternative.
And the US still has 1/3 the amount of people. Not financially viable at all.

Dense cities such as chicago, san francisco, new york, etc. do have comparable public transport.
