Yes it's horrible. As a Christian, I can say this for certain. Most of western Christiandom is under the deception of satan and needs a revival. I pray for it every day.

I'm baptist. I don't care if you're posting this as a smear on all christians or not, I will comment anyways. The division you're posting about is real and possibly complex to an unchurched person. There is a doctrine called "dispensationalism" that is splitting us. It is an interpretation of Genesis 12:3, where God blesses the seed of Abraham, aka those who believe in God. The traditional Bibles (KJV and orthodox translation) are based on the Textus Recepticus which makes it clear God speaks about the believers, as the New Testament continues this, it means those who follow Christ, aka the church, the saved, the holy nation, the royal priesthood.
New translation of the Bible (NIV) are based on a codex of scriptures from Alexandria that were lost for literally 1,500 years and rediscovered in the early 1800s. While 95% similar, verses like this were twisted and purposely translated as God blessing the physical land of Israel. There are many side arguments about the (((men))) who pushed this translation into prominence over the traditional text and their agenda...but the main point of the doctrine of dispensationalism is that these people use the pro-israel version. They hold that Jews aren't condemned by God, that they have a separate path to salvation that doesn't involve Jesus. That by virtue of Genesis 12:3 if you're a good Jew and still reject Jesus you still go to heaven.
It's clearly against Christian doctrine and an outright rejection of the new Testament. These are the false prophets we were warned of.
The Bible also says that the land of Israel will be fulfilled when the believers aka Jews of the spirit inwardly turn towards God and are rewarded. Jews have not turned towards Jesus, or their old testament beliefs either, it's a 99% atheist country. So it's not a fulfillment of prophecy. During their declaration of statehood they made no mention of God.
