This is why the whole “climate change” thing is such bullshit. Even if you ignore the fact that the University of East Anglia (a bigger player in the “research”) got cracked and caught doing the following:
- falsifying data sets
- tweaking models to show warming trends
- harassing researchers that had contrary findings
- using the peer review system to block the publishing of contrary research
- encouraging others to do all the above.
NOAA also got caught fiddling with their data. Now, even if you ignore this shit, you’re still fucked. The models are currently non-predictive and generally not understandable. Weather is what’s called a fucking dynamical system. These systems have feedback loops. This makes them fucking notoriously difficult. So much so that the entire discipline of so-called “chaos theory” came right the fuck out of this shit. One of the more famous papers, by a dude named Lorenz, happened because he made a “toy weather”. He used a few differential equations, had a feedback loop, and got some computer time (this was way the fuck back when you had to share computers). So, he entered his initial data and let it run. Here’s the thing: his initial data went to six decimal places, but the printout of the results only went to three. He decided to re-run this test and entered the data from the printout. He was fucking flummoxed by the fact that after just a few iterations the second run was totally different from the first. He was all “WTF? How can shit starting with the 1/10000th make any fucking difference?” But it does. It’s called “sensitive dependence on initial conditions”. We now know that these systems are fundamentally unpredictable (“chaotic”). Sure, patterns often emerge (“strange attractors”), but you have no fucking clue when.

Once you understand this shit, which is barely even scratching the surface, you know that anyone telling you they know what’s happening with the climate is a fucking political dickshit. They don’t know, can’t know, and don’t know that they don’t know.

It's real, but not man-made and not a big deal. It's probably actually a good thing, as this warming cycle is bringing us closer to the medieval optimum, and the increased CO2 is helping reverse desertification.

Basically, our warming models are all wrong because they're feeding in the wrong data. The IPCC has a new model which accounts for some of the missing energy entering the system, but no one is using it to publish the results because it shows that warming caused by human sources is almost zero.

It's real but its result won't be nearly as bad as people like to describe them. It will get a bit warmer and the dutch are going to get wet feet, that's it. There won't be any apocalypse because of it.

The same people screaming humans are responsible for climate change also list humans as a major extinction event despite there being more diverse life now than ever from what we can tell, zero reliable data showing how extinction events based on a dominate lifeform played out in the past, and the endangered species list being a pretty terrible way of documenting animal livelihood when we don't have any truly reliable base numbers to judge whether or not the species in question aren't at their normal levels.

Political activism mixed in Science generates hugely flawed data because of the bias of the researchers involved.

It's irrelevent whether or not it is real because the solutions they give you are fraudelent. These people tell you that the world is coming to an end and that you should be concerned about it, that it's actually too late to do anything about it, and they do nothing. It was a high ranking guy that was about to attend a climate change conference and started fucking with the numbers. Not to mention the fact that scientists, despite their reputation, aren’t demigods of impartiality. You can look at Thomas Kuhn about this. Even if they were, they live on grants. Only governments can pay for this sort of research. Since climate change is a political issue, if you want a job, you toe the line. There’s a similar situation with M-Theory (String Theory). It’s basically overly-complicated untestable unfalsifiable bullshit. But, if you’re getting your doctorate in Physics and try to go another way, your advisor will either whip you into shape, wash you out, or, if you manage to survive, you’ll have a fuck of a time getting a job.

There are literally no serious climate researchers who think climate change isn’t largely human-driven. We know this because the models today are good enough to prove it. We have been able to prove human-influences through isotope analysis of greenhouse gases.

"It’s chaotic and not understood" is one of the later denial propaganda claims. In fact it’s not chaotic and the variables are mostly accounted for now. Modern climate models are pretty accurate.
