Why Finnish steel is still the highest quality in the world?

Why Finnish steel is still the highest quality in the world?

Certainly not because of you.
Sage

I don't believe that quality is very important in an online sales market. You will be a long-term loser.

i have one of these hatchets. its sharp as fuck. i managed to get a glancing blow on a limb once and it bounced off the tree and into my leg. fortunately, the blade was so sharp that i didnt even feel any pain. thanks based finns.

me but i swung into something thinking i wouldnt cut it in one go but i sure did and happened to be so bright at the time that i was also barefoot. Didnt feel a thing, but now my foot has nerve damage. bretty gud

fiskars axes are great for about 107 swings

Used to matter when you'd buy an implement with the expectation it would last generations. Now it's not worth the time to put a new edge on when you can just pick up a chink made one for $10 on sale at harbor freight.

no nerve damage to my foot, but i cant really feel my shin anymore. now i can kick the fuck out of people with it.

>flat hammer make ouch

I have that axe. Didn’t know it was Finnish, good for you guys.

Why German cars are still the best in the world?

Attached: 1.png (679x481, 678K)

Hey!. I own that axe. Good splitter

fiskars products have all gone to shit over the last few years

steel on these axes is soft as fuck dude

i dunno. this has been a great hatchet for me, besides that one incident. still sharp as hell.

>besides that one incident

where you accidentially the whole nigger family?

fpbp, American Steel is best

i agree
i have their spade also and you really need to use it carefully

Polacks still put lead to their axes, a practice from the Commonwealth period to cheat the customers.

You a shill trying to market your product? That hatchet has clearly never been used and looks like it was just taken out of the package. Also the stump you put it on was cut lonnnng ago as you can tell by how weathered it is. So basically this photo looks staged as fuck, and who the fuck would take the time to stage a photo of a shitty plastic handle hatchet besides a shill?

Then why is African Steal the most common?

calm down autismo, thats a random image from the interwebz.

I have one of those. It's pretty good except I won't be able to re-attach the head to another handle once it breaks. I split some cherry wood today because FUCK paying the gas jew.

all of these comments of people accidentally chopping off limbs are a great argument for why axes shouldn't be razor sharp. you're cutting wood not shaving

I like fiskars, it's fall back is the plasic handle. I had one of their hatchet is used for like 3 years while living in Alaska. After I would get my wood cut and cured, I would store it under my house, and I would use a hatchet, to do any last splitting, or making kindling, since I was in a confined space. I gotta say, really one of the best axe heads I've had. Good profile, holds an edge well, wasn't prone to chipping, easy to sharpen. But the plastic ruined it. The handle held up fine for what I was doing. but the plastic around the head that held it in place, over time it wore it self thin, until it snapped.
If it was any other axe. no problem, you just fit a new handle. As long as you don't let a axe rust to much you can maintain it for the rest of your life. Not fiskars though, once it's done, that's it. It's a throw away axe. Sure I got some good use out of it.
But why is the highest quality steel in the world disposable?

I will, you're my favorite people in the world.

The fuck is that monstrosity

thank you for your input Wranglerstar you larping boomer
>dude muh heirloom tools lmao
honestly if you want quality you have to search for it and pay a premium since quality handtools have become a niche market and the sentiment that back in the day everything was so cheap, reliable and lasted centuries is just looking though rose-tinted glasses

There are different tiers of steels. Any axe above 30$ is good enough for occasional use some more than others but all will get the job done. This is not 1819 the origin of the steel hardly matters. As for the best steel, once you go to powder steels it is moot point. They are super steels, with qualities far exceeding normal steel. For common axe everything from 1045 to 1075 is good enough, if you look for most durable go for 5160 or other spring steel. I have hultafors axe it is overkill for occasional use but I just don't like plastic handles.

Depends on what you need and want. Personally I like cars that make their horsepower and torque down low for power on demand in commuting, drives over curbs with impunity with big sidewalls, and cheap to operate despite being mercilessly punishing on the car. Older V6 Toyotas and Hyundais fit that bill and they're reasonably quick to boot. The German stuff is a little too fancy for my wallet.

try hitting the wood with the chopping part next time

You're retarded a dull axe takes way more energy to use and will still fuck you up if you hit yourself. The proper precaution is just to not be in a position that you could hit your legs in.

>why is the highest quality steel in the world disposable?

Serves him right. He trusted a FINN.

>autism

jewish lies?

bought a bunch of military surplus shit from Varusteleka

Thank you based finland

The hardened polycarbonate handle takes about 1,8 tons of pressure to break. You can only break it with tools.

None of that story is true. Fiskar's steel is utter shit, that's why it's so cheap. Anyone who's actually used a fiskars hatchet would be appalled. Why would go on Jow Forums and lie about fhis? Do you get paid to post ANYTHING that's untrue? I thought the shekels were only for blacked porn and purity spiralling.

>understanding babyshit-tier engineering concepts is autism
am i correct that 5th grade maths are beyond your capacity?

wow, thanks, i will try that next time

nigga you are retarded I sell fiskars they are the best

>what is cumulative stress
wewlads, world should have left engineering to the germans

>what are stress concentration, jerk, repeated use, and manufacturing defects

JEW SCREWS!!!!!

Polycarbonates are flexible and tough they do not accumulate strain from use like hardened steel for example.

Took way too many posts for someone to say this.

>they do not accumulate strain from use like hardened steel
depends on where on the curve you are.

Finland is basically Russia. Their accents nevertheless imply Slavic origins. Surprised though, Russians made good steel. I guess the Finns are just Russia's. retarded brother.

this whole thread, i axed miles of various firewood with a 5 buck axhammer, replaced the handle a few times. ist just a sharp Piece of steel

Swed axe, best axe

I've heard that iron from different places has different qualities. Japan had bad iron, and Spain was where Rome got its swords. Does Finland really have the best steel?

>Their accents nevertheless imply Slavic origins.

You know nothing, Jon Dildo.

Quick question.

The automotive subcontractors now buy Swedish aluminum at twice the cost due to the tariffs. The pallet wood that they use to ship that stuff is really high quality compared to good US lumber. What makes the lumber there so much better?

hell yeah my snownigga

Govt subsidies stolen from other nations.

I'm pissed someone stole my Fiskars shovel. Bitch was made heavy and would do anything. Need to pry a rock out of the ground? No problem, the blade was proper 3/16th's steel, not the piddly 18 gauge shit you see a lot of shovels use. Full metal handle welded to the head meant it would never break. if I ever find the wetback who stole it, I'm going to skin them with it.

sadly i need more of it now
