USA was never meant to be a democracy. We are a constitutional republic. The constitution and bill of rights are meant to limit the powers of the 3 branches of the republic. Our republic is failing because the citizens have allowed themselves to become so dependent on federal benefits while also complacent in monitoring and rebuking the creeping power of the state.

Democracy got us into this problem, we need something better.
