I have dual citizenship by birth, I've toyed with the idea of moving to Germany after college. If you're in a STEM field it's relatively easy to find positions there. Have you spent time in Germany before?

You definitely should visit for some period of time before you decide. All your errands and responsibilities are going to be done a bit differently, which may not suit you. Overall I would say Germans are halfway between American levels of fake-niceties/emotions and Finnish level hyperautism, which is something you have to experience before you decide you want to live among it.

Munich is the Anti-Bavaria. While rural Bavaria is conservative, Christian, white, Munich is socialist, progressive, and full of niggers and shitskins. Due to it also being the home of the jetset and the entertainment industry, it's also the most expensive city in Germany. Don't try to even live there if you don't have a six-figure income, most of which will be sunk into renting a decent apartment.

My father and grandparents are from Munich/Niederoesterreich, so the accent isn't foreign to me. I spent a few weeks in Munich by myself a while ago, the only time I truly can't understand someone is if they're speaking some with a very deep accent or if they're speaking Bairisch of course. In Munich in general though it's not like people are speaking very differently from "standard" High German.

This is very accurate. Lived in Munich, now moved to the country side. I still go there to work everyday. But there are still some nice areas with parks, old architecture and beergarden. Just avoid the area around the central station.

Also it's still much safer than any city in the US.

I moved to North Carolina for US government related work (I make industrial paint for shit like buildings, tanks, helicopters etc) I like the guns food and people here but I miss the scenery (I lived in a rural part with very nice hills and rivers) and the shopping. US markets and food choice is kind've boring. And the environment is very bland and asphalt culture.

Depends on your perspective, I guess. I personally don't like Munich, for several reasons: Bavarian culture has been thinning out in recent decades. In Munich, most people cannot speak the Bavarian dialect anymore. The city has been flooded with foreigners and Prussians over the years. Most of them love to larp as Bavarians, but don't actually have a real Bavarian (Catholic) soul. For most (young) Munich folks, being Bavarian means getting roaring drunk and and wearing a Dirndl with their tits hanging out. That's about it. Germany and Bavaria don't really have an identity today imo. In America, even as a foreigner, you really "feel" America and the American soul. In Europe, and Germany in particular, this isn't the case anymore. The people are drones, and everything feels soulless. This isn't helped by the fact that Munich was destroyed badly by the war. The city and suburbs are ugly save for a small area in the city center around the city Hal and Odeon's Plaza. And you won't be able to afford an apartment there as regular Joe. Also a lot of folks here are obnoxious noveaux rich who love to talk about how awesome Munich supposedly is. Sure, it has a lot to offer for a tier 2 city, but it isn't Paris of New York. Yet when you hear Munich folks talk about the city, this is how you think it is like. Finally, there is too many people. Because the streets in the city center are relatively small, it feels like the city is bursting on a Saturday.
Hope you got a feeling fir the city. I personally have never really liked it too much here, and actually will be moving to Austria in the summer. I love the romanticized idea of what Bavaria should and could be, but this isn't the reality of the city. But maybe for you as a burger, it's an upgrade?

I'm Bavarian. I'm from "Niederbayern" and I personally hate every German city with >50.000 inhabitants. They are soulless (both the city and most of its inhabitants). To the OP I say if you're white get yourself a white girlfriend in Bavaria, preferably some farmers daughter which was raised Catholic and if you're lucky her parents are even racist.
