Far right as political sentiment is generally invisible until it's not. It is the instinct to protect and secure what we already have. As such, in good times, it bubbles just under the surface, hidden, but still there. It shows itself when the living standards and expectations of the middle class begin to decline. When the poor get poorer, nothing really changes. They understand the grammar of poverty. Life may have gotten harder, but then again, life has always been hard. But when the middle class begins to feel like it can no longer afford a middle class lifestyle (a house, a car, a family, and a yearly trip to Disney world or wherever), things begin to get dangerous. They don't know how to live with poverty, they know their kids will have it worse, and they remember that things used to be better. Before those damn kikes showed up. Or muslims. Or whoever else.
We're almost there. One more good recession and you'll start to see what far right actually means.
