Do you need to read books anymore?

Books are useless now, When i want to learn something interesting, I just look it up and read the Wikipedia page about

You need to be able to follow a complex narrative, or you're brain will physically change. I suggest reading at least 100 pages per day. Watch this documentary when you have a couple hours to spare:

*your

STOP AND THINK

slide thread

>100 pages per day
Yea I got shit to do nigger.

Of course they're important. How else will I read the sirrahs on killing infidels?

I read books all the time because screens seem to mess with my eyes. They are also more in-depth than most online articles, and give a sense of connection in ways screens don't.

Nonsense. Set screentime limits on your phone if you think you don't have time to read.

>read books all the time because screens seem to mess with my eyes
Blue light filters my dude.

>Set screentime limits on your phone if you think you don't have time to read.
Nigger I got a job and then 2-3 hours at the gym. I'm come home to eat, crap, and sleep

The source will tell the truth alot better than a biased wiki page.

>2-3 hours at the gym
That's too long, unless you're one of those strongest man competitors.

AINT NO SUCH MOTHA FUCKING THING AS OVER TRAINING

I like the way they smell.

Wikipedia is trash tier user. Wtf kind of study did you ever do where Wikipedia could even be sourced?

more important than you might know. books allow a more comprehensive view of things, forcin you to gain a larger picture of something, spending more time, and learning peripheral aspects to what you are trying to gain knowledge of. often people (me included) will just go to wikipedia, and wont evern go to the talk page or know the importance of the talk page.

the internet creates bubble learning, a more direct and aspie form of learning, tending towards condensation of knowledge, regurgitation of knowledge passed through many parties.

books are important. sources are important. who translates or interprets is important. use all forms possible, books included.

Screens is only part of it, I also prefer the feel of books.

Agreed. If I want to know about a topic, I want to snort that knowledge with fine Wikipedia powder. Some authors of non-fiction are still nice if they have an interesting way of writing, like B. Fuller for example.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cattle

Slow day at JIDF headquarters, huh?

I have a job too I still read whenever I can. Not gonna tell you how to live your life tho but lack of time usually isn't the issue

I listen to audio books while commuting, works fairly well

oh that's cool--pretty much counts as pages imho bc it's the same content

>You need to be able to follow a complex narrative, or you're brain will physically change
incorrect, it is literally the exact opposite. if children are not FORCED to read they will grow up into worthless retards, which is the natural state of being.

Fools always have a rationalization for their intellectual sloth. Nothing new under the sun.

If they are grown up forced to read, They would have no creative iterations of there own.

Only to repeat what has been said to them.

I used to like reading. I haven't in years because who cares about anything anymore anyway.

if you post this dumb shit like this again I'm blocking pol off your computer

That needs to be about 12 times faster

I will take it.

You learn best in a complex environment. With that said, I have but a single utterance: "Occam's Razor."

>Books are useless now
no, books are more useful than ever now because of online censorship.

No point in posting this here

>You learn best in a complex environment. With that said, I have but a single utterance: "Occam's Razor."
This makes me want to slap you more than leaf shit posting

I agree wholeheartedly. They also can't be edited or deleted like websites

Wikipedia is for faggots, you are the proof.

People with a hardy personality tend to resist sociological ideology as well. Be what you will.

Ture, wikipedia articles change every day and has done so for years.
usb drives only last 20 something years, dvd's last like 10 years on average.

yep

Books feel better to read.

>everything is online
kek what brainlets

>I suggest reading at least 100 pages per day
You aren't reading dense enough books if you read 100 pages a day.

ok sister cousin
show us your real flag faggot

>if children are not FORCED to read they will grow up into worthless retards
True. If a child never develops these pathways, they will never develop later in life. But, if a child does develop them (by being forced to read), he or she can lose and regain them. I believe this is being done purposefully in order to dumb us down, and iirc, that is the argument that the filmmakers present as well.

IQ cannot be affected by you willingness to learn or read

>reading makes you dumb

>if children are not FORCED to read they will grow up into worthless retards
Who "forces" their children to read? If you grow up in a household where everyone reads and books are readily available than children will likely be attracted to literature. You guys all sound like low socio-economic losers.

Well that’s not what your back shoulders and knees are going to say in 10 years.

I'm talking about neuroplasticity, not IQ (though there may be a connection, but I'm not aware of any studies that have shown such a connection). Your brain can be trained and physically changed like your muscles.

What? Re-read my post.

>You guys all sound like low socio-economic losers.
You sound like a materialistic kike. It's mimicry--if a child sees their parents reading, they will be attracted to reading. But if a child sees their parents rubbing on their phones, or sitting around watching netflix, they will be attracted to screens

Don't trust Wikipedia blindly - google.com/amp/s/www.newyorker.com/tech/annals-of-technology/a-feminist-edit-a-thon-seeks-to-reshape-wikipedia/amp

i dont, i check their sources and see if everything correlates

:|

This is what I do, though it's going to take me almost 100 work days to finish my current book listening only during commutes.

Well that is pretty thick book. Good utilization of time though

Only faggots who don't keep books on hand for reference say this.

Books are from the devil and TVs twice as fast

Thanks, Schlomo,

Lol You read wikipedia? Well, that must provide a great depth of knowledge.

(Read books, Kiddos. Read lots of books.)

Wikipedia doesn't contain sufficient depth you little brainlet faggot.

I look at reading like exercising, if I don't do it I'll be a fat dumbass. I try to read minimally 100 pages per day.

Edie Brickell?

Neck yourself kike fag

Yes, you can stop reading books now, meme flag. Once the juice goes down just plug your pc in your asshole. Then you can read your Wikipedia again.
