Although it sounds like bait, I think this is a good question. A few decades ago, drunk driving was a slap on the wrist. Spend the night in the drunk tank and go on your business. Why is it now, all of a sudden, a life ruining crime? And I know it has the possibility to ruin others lives but we already prosecute those situations fully.

1. If they don't want you drinking and driving, they could just say 0 drinks. This over 80 standard is arbitrary and different people have different tolerances, the machine readings are affected by how much you ate, whether you drank the night before, whether you had mation, whether you had diabetes. Saying over 80 gives people the impression they can drink something and drive, thus giving a slew of people for the state to arrest to pretend like they are useful and protecting us.

2. It doesn't take that much drinking to get to over 80 - depending on other factors a person could be over 80 after 3 drinks

Long time reader and 1st time poster. My father gets fucking blasted every weekend driving to our cabin 3 hours away. It's all mostly freeway. He has also driven drunk before we had that cabin almost every weekend for my whole life. Has not been pulled over, has not hit shit. He has road rage if he doesn't drink while behind the wheel. It actually makes him a better driver I believe. This is truly the final red pill.

It is a lot of fun. This is always completely ignored. Sometimes I have a few beers and drive around my neighborhood. It really clears my mind.
