I would not want our country to go into another union, we just got our independence. I love all scandis and nordics, even finns. Some of the nicest people I've met are icelanders and faeroese, thanks to my dialect-knowledge I can understand most of what they say. I don't like to shit on swedes either, for all their faults. Alot of nice swedes around, and as I and most norwegians understand swedish (and I also speak pretty good swedish) it's nice to be able to converse without having to translate certain idioms and ways of saying that loses their meaning in english. You probably would have trouble with some of our dialects, I speak 3 norwegian dialects that are far apart, but usually I stick with radionorska since I am living in the capital. Danish is hard because it has changed it to a very floating language, where different words sound the same to foreigners(and to some danes), and where parts of words are not pronounced, which make it sound like a mess.

Well, there were finno-ugric groups in the northermost parts, but it was not really your clay, as a nomadic people. In th 1600s many finns moved to parts of sweden and norway, and mixed in with the populace. I myself am 1,6 percent finnish ethnically because one of my forefathers was a kven; a finn that moved to North-Norway some 200-300 years ago. It's pretty common to have a small percentage of finnish genes here, in certain parts of the country.
