We often hear from mainstream media and historians that they dindu nuffin, that pretty much all so-called witches were just victims of patriarchal oppression and prejudice etc. Is this actually true though?

Yes. Witches in the classical sense were old widows who would cannibalize the kids who ventured thier way in the woods. They fed off the hunters game. Guess what was their finest prey. Fresh boys flesh
It was just a group panic
Of course they were real.

From what I can tell a lot didn't do anything, but all fears come from somewhere so I am sure there where some out there
witches were lesbian feminists

one for example showing how the witch was physically incapable of citing the bible and such stuff
another highlights suffering from seizures which was eased when prayed with voodooesque dolls with goat hair found at the suspects house as well.
You should realize that todays witches are people like clinton, abramovic, podesta, podesta, most of the royal family and the like we just stopped burning them
My granddad says there is a group of women at his church group that are the living embodiment of satan.
They constantly waste time at all the meetings by calling everything into question and dragging all possible aspects of every point on the agenda out as long as possible. I think this type of woman where the witches.
magic has existed for a long time, hence the sacrifices of people/children. if it didnt work no one would bother to do something useless, but turns out blood is gasoline for magic
I "wonder" what kind of children they preferred.
Thats merely one part of the agenda, watering down thr codex given to God and destroying the traditions to replace them with new ones rising like a phoenix from the ashes of the old,m. Satan is a sjw but the witchcraft is very real i believe
Yeah, they were just like in Dishonored
Not real, it was fundamental christianity persecuting lonely old women.

>The first inhabitants of Italy were the Aborigines, whose king, Saturnus, is said to have been a man of such extraordinary justice, that no one was a slave in his reign, or had any private property, but all things were common to all, and undivided, as one estate for the use of every one; in memory of which way of life, it has been ordered that at the Saturnalia slaves should everywhere sit down with their masters at the entertainments, the rank of all being made equal."
Sounds familliar?
How Satan policies would look like:
First Satan will push egalitariaism and liberalism to break down concepts of race, ethnicity, and tradition together with a hedonistic materialist worldview.
Open borders to have cultures clash and gradually dilute one another and make compromises to stay compatible with one another, this is gradual mutual destruction of the cultures. Identity and gender politics. "So what if God made me a guy. I cut my dick off and become a woman. My body my choice", Normalization of childsacrifices in form of abortion under the flag of personal freedom, that is egoism which is satanism
He will break down the natural order, "everyone" will be equal, no God or king above one who can tell you anything. Age old concepts will be altered, until no definition holds anything anymore and everything can be reshaped/redefined however it is deemed fit. "Two genders is just an age old misconcept, modern science shows gender isnt binary but fluid and free to choose and not defined by biology". "War is peace", "Loving your own race is hating other races"
Everything is aimed at breaking down the natural order as provided by God and pervert every concept you can think of.
This will lead to people only caring for themselves gradually, being "liberated" from the laws and morals of God, the chains that bind them, which are embodied in our culture and tradition that they break down
Christians are just hebrew weaboos
Nah, majority of witches in Finland were male so it had nothing to do with patriarchal oppression.
In example
the fingers are associated with planets . the middlefinger for example is associated with saturn which may gives relation to pic related making it a bloodsacrifice to saturn.
on a side note, the ringfinger is the sun finger, the sun, being a symbol for God and the finger also associated with courage and passion. I believe rings and circles are meant to seal something away, and the ring at marriage is never mentioned in the bible and likely is a ploy to corrupt it, and who would have known, after the marriage passion and courage dies off just killing the marriage
"witches" were usually midwives or old ladies that knew about medicinal herbs. They often lived in secluded regions outside of villages to be closer to their plant sources.
As the medical field was burgeoning, they sought to remove them from the equation.
They were rebranded as witches and eliminated.
They exist today too.
Just in different forms like feminist, sjw, jew and most working in entertainment industry.
Witchcraft now-a-days is propaganda.
Witches were educated older women without kids and with cats.
You're telling me they weren't real?

Afaik the most of burned witches where male, but there is a reason it appears to have been a female thing.
the moon is generally regarded as the feminin where as the sun is regarded as masculine. The sun gives light much like the man gives the seed which the woman receives like the moon the light of the sun. The moon is also linked to the menstrual cycle of the women both being ~days. The menstrual Cycle was basically seen as a bloodritual, powerfull enough to create life, and as such the woman was believed to be either very powerfull or powerless (magically) based on where she currently is in this cycle, which also results in the moon phases being believed to increase and decrease the power of spells as well where as the man has a constant average going for him giving the women greater potential for witchcraft than the male if the time is right. (as such the stereotype of female witches).
That's the explanation you'll find in elementary school textbooks. It's basically an Occam's razor analysis of the phenomenon and I don't think it tells the whole story.
>elementary school
Was part of a med student conference presentation in 2003.
The medical field was for men only and the old ladies were cramping their style.
Have you actually read it or are you just shitposting? It’s quite a book, with many contemporary examples to flesh it out. It’s strange to modern eyes to see such a rational work on what we consider to be a fundamentally irrational subject.
My take is that’s it’s all true.
>witches were just misunderstood midwives
>herbal healers
>symbols of female power unrestrained
>victims of group hysteria and amped-up petty grudges
>child murders in league with the devil
It’s all true, depending who/when/where. If you’re looking for a single answer to such a question you’ve already got it wrong.
I can believe that there were cases in which this happened, but I can't believe that this is the cause for witch-hunting across the board. That's why I think it's an oversimplification. There just happened to be a growing phenomenon of single women pursuing medicine out in the woods? So these strong, intelligent, trailblazing women were just killed for being strong, intelligent trailblazers?
>were
No
The point of the matter is at inception the witch phenomenon was about getting the old ladies out of the midwife/medicine field. Most women would seek out their advice for ailments and for childbirth.
The witch phenomenon snowballed thanks to religious zeal, came to be so much more as lunacy and gossip traveled.
My great great grandmother was branded a witch because she did not like the fact that the priest was a drunkard.
Her entire family had to leave the city and establish themselves in another region.
Priests used the witch panic to include any woman they deemed problematic....then you had the witch hunt frenzy where people would accuse anybody they did not like "witches"
This is exactly the same as believing the jews were unfairly persecuted and banished over 100 times from different European states/kingdoms during the last couple thousand years.
You know how women can't stand each other? Well imagine if you were a bitch and there was a word you could call a rival that would have them executed.
What do you think might happen?
>My great great grandmother was branded a witch because she did not like the fact that the priest was a drunkard.
Just to play the devils advocate, you take this at face value? Why? How do you know you are not being lied to?
just because your aunt did sopa de macaco doesnt mean theres no real witches out there
My sisters a long haired, blonde, nature witch. It's a pagan thing. She doesn't cast spells or eat kids, just drinks a lot of tea.
Because I went to the national archives to do my genealogy and found the official ordinance asking her to get the fuck out of the village or be burned at the stake LOL
her crime was witchcraft
LOL
You can still find witches in Brazil. They are called curandeiras. I pick up all my herbs and raw plant material from a 90 year old lady in my city. She has a booth at the market
Yes.
It seems odd that any civilization would want old, experienced midwives out of the field. I can understand that removing women from medicine would be a priority, but not for midwives. The priest-class using hysteria to cement their control makes total sense, but I find it hard to believe entire populations would be convinced without any solid evidence to support burning of problematic women. It's possible that people were so conditioned to rely on authority that they took it at face value, but still, I get a feeling that there's more to the story besides moldy bread and power-grabbing. Witches have been in the human psyche for eons, after all. I feel that there must be a sliver of truth to their existence.

man, i really wonder what was sacrificed there. its undeniable that (((they))) are communing with evil spirits
These are the witches we used to burn
Witchcraft has been utilized by lots of cultures throughout history. Some have found it to be beneficial, and some have considered it to be evil. Your sister sounds like she's LARPing, but her ancestors may have legitimately practiced shamanism and human sacrifice.
The catholic church had tremendous power back then (they still do today in South America). Information was strictly controlled by them alone. Not to difficult to distribute information to every parish back in those days, they had the means.
You know that the catholic church often used the "witch" label to have families flee in order to expropriate land.
>we want that land
>fucking WITCH
>family flees
>we shall built a church here so the land becomes blessed anew..we will remove the evil.
You ever been to the Vatican?
they still are
Most of the female witches were widows who inherited their husbands land . The burgermisters wanted their land.
Yes, reality is superficially placed on top the subtle realm. Witches are babies in this article though, people who see this don't get caught ;)
Midwives were statistically the least likely group to be executed.
"Witchcraft" was merely English for "female paganism". In other places, like in Scandinavia, most of those executed for witchcraft were male. Witches being female is a mostly English-German conception.
And to illucidate further for some of the ignorants here, most witch executions occurred during the renaissance, not the middle ages.
I dont deny that this was often abused for such means, but claiming that the majority or even all of the burnings were just through such means is pretty far fedged when we have witches fitting the classical descriptions of eating babies and sacrificing them for their bullshit and meeting in secret places to have sex magic orgies and bringing potions/drugs into the land in the highest echelons of the government. If you doubt those are behind drugs as well just look into gary webbs who suicide with 2 shots to the head after writing about the CIA bringing the drugs in for the cartells and work with them together in general and run the opium fields. No secret CIA also brought in crack into the niggerhoods and distributed LSD to the hippies, the same drug used in MKUltra experiments
Also, a lot of women accused of witchcraft were actual poisoners. Look up La Voisin.
Female poisoners were far more common before modern science could detect such things.
>the witch was physically incapable of citing the bible
The most plausible explanation is illiteracy
>hence the sacrifices of people/children.
Like when Abraham is told to sacrifice Issac? Those kinds of people?
Nope

Eh.... The Catholic Church's Inquisition publicly declared at the time that the witchcraft thing was a nonsense. I studied the topic in uni.

Witches were just lesbians. Look at dykes now. They hang out in packs. Like a coven. Laugh at me if you want, but its true.
Witch was the word used for a proto feminist, and as you can see by the current state of the west, burning them was completely justified.
This. Leftist behavior and how obviously evil it is convinced me Jesus is Lord after decades of atheism.
Knowledge of witchcraft and the occult is intergenerational, secretly passed down from parent to kid. Some of these people can track their ancestry back 3,000 years to Babylon. They love the stupid image of witches in the mainstream. Throws the normies right off the scent. Also makes it easy to ridicule suspicious normies.
That’s just how women are Hans

Not even shitposting mt man. I have a copy in my library and have read it. It’s written so thoroughly and rationally as you said. I grew up near Salem, Mass and always was suspicious of the narrative that it was superstitious hysteria that caused the witch trials here. The Puritans were sober, god-fearing people with wducated leaders and it doesn’t make sense that they would hunt down a bunch of witches without just cause.
This, more or less unironically.
Yes, but they burned them all
Oy vey that’s anti Semitic
I've just always assumed that "witches" were women committing abortion/abortion "doctors".
It's what I'd do with those that commit abortion anyway.
That’s a funny coincidence because I bought my copy in Salem, Mass! It’s a modern conceit to view our ancestors as childish fools, which they certainly were not. I tend to believe the things they have passed down to us, unless I have a good reason not to do so. We live in a strange time, with great insight in some areas and near-total blindness in others.
It’s interesting because when you read the accounts of witch trials it’s clear the people at the time were very upset and bewildered by it. This wasn’t something they expected or were well-equipped to tackle.
>but I find it hard to believe entire populations would be convinced without any solid evidence
What is the fucking inquisition?
What is the hollowcost?
Witches were likely considered heretics. Do you know about the Cathars?
You seem like an interesting guy to talk to at a bar or sit next to on a plane.
They always omit that it was a woman accusing other women that started this.
Some bump
In the US at least the witch hysteria was unirobicallt the SJWism of its time, as in, a movement led by Harvard clergymen that whipped up a hysteria, then the women got in on it and it REALLY went off the rails. Maybe some of them WERE witches, I guess, but it seems unlikely, about as likely as the average Boomer is secretly a Nazi for voting for Zion Don.
Unironically*
Thank you, user. I just try to keep my eyes open.
To expand a bit on an earlier point:
Remember, the Puritans in Salem were very Protestant, even considering the Church of England too close to Catholicism. For them to turn to a centuries-old, very Catholic work (Malleus) is a good indication of how totally beyond their experience the whole thing was.
>were
They ARE real. Sabbatean-Frankist Jews, Satanists, malicious pagans -- their driving force is corrpution and perversion of innocence. Save for the jews, they're all incomprehensibly stupid, they're only devious. It's easy to lie, manipulate and misdirect people, so they've learned this early on and have embraced - it doesn't require intelligence or superiority only a dedication to wickedness which any mouth breathing stone brain could do.
When they can't conceal their wickedness any longer, they immediately start lashing out and gaslighting, terrorizing and waging war on people. They can and will be tortured to death forever.
It was a convenient way to remove hindrances. Some young Thot you banged threatened your marriage? Burn the witch. Some crone threatens your snake oil venture with herbal medicine? Burn the witch.
Of course. Saul the jewish king was cursed , after he went to see the witch of endor......
Modern famous witches: Lana Del Rey, Madonna, Hillary Clinton, Lynn De Rothschild.... instagram is filled with these bitches.....
I have only seen one real witch in my life....fucking freaky....she was old but hot as hell...very weird....
