1) Trump has always messaged how important the US economy was; he is the economy cheerleader. He has been for the past 30 years.

2) Trump is a businessman of a complex corporation; he has real-world experience in negotiations, PR, management, logistics, etc in a highly competitive field. Biden has only government experience.

3) Trump is the deal-master; even has a couple books on it, right? Deal-making is a part of advocacy.

4) He has been fiercely protective of US economic interests: NAFTA, TPP, China, etc and the Dems always seem to decry it.

5) The Dems will try to hammer Trump on a downturn but he is also known as the expert on fiscal crisis ('Art of the Comeback') where Trump manoeuvred around the banks.

6) The Dems have been running on social issues (race, gay, feminism, abortion and climate change) and in a economic downturn all that will be put on a back-burner.
