Was Wuthering Heights always cucked? Why did England do this in their most recent adaptation? Heathcliff is described as a ‘dark skinned Gypsy’ in the book. Is it an overreaction to call it out, or does that mean he was actually black?

Dark-skinned in 19th century England doesn’t mean what it means today. It means he might have been a shade below swarthy or had a nonwhite grandparent. Something like that.
