The abortion argument, when all the fluff is taken away, breaks down to this claim: that women should be granted the privilege to individually determine whether their baby should be afforded personhood (and be legally protected by the state) or not. No other citizen is granted that privilege, which explains the double standards of how fetal homocide and abortion laws are applied.

The thing is, saying you're scared of dying yourself does not qualify as a conscientious objector status. On the other hand not wanting to kill someone might be, but it has it's ambiguity.

If I were to tell the draft board that I want conscious objector status because I don't want to die, they would say I'm not qualified for CO status.

You do know two or more states now have “post birth abortions” legalized, and the senate recently denied a bill that would require doctors to save a babies life, after it is born, if the mother doesn’t want it?

if you want my honest opinion I think abortion should be limited to the first trimester and men should have a say in it, maybe in the form of having the right to give up their fatherhood rights and responsibilities for child support, considering that outlawing abortion altogether is politically unrealistic.

Also abortion has its usefulness. It would be great if all babies born into families that are going to raise them on abrahamic religion were aborted for example, because letting them live that way is just cruelty to animals.
