I plan to retire at around 40 and enjoy the rest of my life, at this point it's all just putting money away and investing some. But I started with a real struggle from a poor family in one of the poorest big cities in the us.

For sure, it's hard, you have to choose suffer now or suffer later, I bought my first house on a 10hr job and could barely afford the bills till I really learned to save on everything, just keep a logbook and write down everything your spend, don't add it up right away, at the end of a month tally it up and look at it in categories, when you see you didn't 200 a month on eating out or 100 a month on smokes it makes more sense, we don't realize what we are spending 20 bucks at a time but when you look at it over a month or a year you realize how much that $2 Starbucks adds up to, I wish you luck bro

Anything I can do to help motivate anyone else to make it, without some motivation from a good freind of mine I don't know that I works have ever buckled down and did what needed to be done, and I don't mean to sound like a Boomer, lots of peaople have the deck stacked against them to start, but you can still figure it out. Not sure how far away you are from electrician but they are still taking them in Afghanistan last I heard at over 100 a year tax free if you do it right, costs of living all paid, a few of my guys that worked on his with me went over there to do that, they are living really cushy after that, think about it you got nothing to spend money on in the middle of the desert, you only gotta do it for a few years then you can come back and cash out a house, a couple cars for you and a misses, and then get back into it over here with half the bills of anyone else. I'm sure Afghanistan won't last forever but there will always be options like that just keep an open mind and find an opportunity
