because it was a jewish pump and dump scheme.
because by marketing itself as a 'free speech alternative' it only served to draw the crowd that felt its speech being actively curtailed by twitter enough to want to leave ie alt-lite retards
i used gab for a bit and was wholly unable to find any non-politics-related content on there. the average twitter user simply had no reason to swap over to gab
Filled to the brim with retards
And a shooter
it didn't fail, retard.
I think in the long run as these big social media companies censor themselves into oblivion, more and more normies will leave and use things like gab, bringing their socialist AIDs with them and pozzing gab and the like.
dissenter.com is going strong.
dissenter.com
It didn't fail. It's still growing strong although it's fucking still owned by a kike and literally censors your post if it has any "hate speech" in it.
It's basically a cucked (((alt-lite))) controlled op platform.
that's only if the company/ies start encroaching upon 'popular, accepted' general conversation
as long as normies can read the latest black twitter meme or clapback they wont give a shit
>dissenter.com
And the hysterical feral left and their information gatekeepers will see this and think "wow all these racism, this place is just white supremacy heaven" without realizing that banning people from their platform of choice doesn't make them disappear.
Its userbase is lower than its ever been
Maybe a segregated internet is better. All the normies stay in their over-moderated censored safe spaces, and the rest of us get to have honest and open discussion free of virtue signaling and digital book burning.
The problem with alt-tech alternatives is that the stormfront faggots basically delegitimize them immediately.
Stormfront and people that unironically think Stormfront is real basically ruin any chance of actually removing the big tech monoply from our lives....cause they immediately force failure on competitive platforms by shitting them up with low effort spam content about race wars and jews and immediately prove that the alternative platform is nothing but an echo chamber full of the scum of the earth.
Mossad barely has to lift a finger to ensure anything that might threaten their information control fails.
Because it was lame.
It was created with political innuendos attached to it (hence the frog logo being used to make fun of liberals for thinking that frogs are racist) and the only people who got attracted to it were others who got banned from other platforms. It's been undercapitalized since late 2017.
Moral of the story is, if you're trying to create an alternative, do not attach any sort of culture reference or political message to it because it'll only attract one kind of group and that won't rake in much profit.
They banned Weev
because of the autistic free speech shit. Turned out to be a skyzo nazi boomer cesspit where no low were too low. free speech is cool but to an extent
that only works if you want to see 100% politics and related discussion on your social media feed, 100% of the time.
this is what people saw on gab and not enough people cared for it enough to keep the platform relevant
GAB was a larp probably created by twitter. If it wanted to succeed it would have been technically better instead of an carbon copy.
this is very similar to how immigrants flee socialism in South America and come to a new country like the states and vote for socialist policies.
based
Only a complete fucking idiot would say free speech is good to an extent
Canada just be destroyed fuck your shithole fucking county
he said cool, not good or necessary
the importance of 'cool' in this context is positive public perception, which is key to sustaining a social media platform
its bots posing as those kinds of people because those kinds of people barely exist. its done on purpose
this
it was either marketing suicide
or a honeypot
and edgy cringetards making up a bulk of your userbase makes it seem like an uncool place. yes, it makes sense
it was dumb and boring.
these people parrot slogans they've been brainwashed to believe. they will never think for themselves
although i still think a lot of those edgy cringetards are bots
In the context of what, red pilling normies? Sure whatever, but to do that you need from speech. They didn't draw the line on fedposting, they're moving it further right, even Jones is unacceptable now.
So that's why free speech is my number one issue regarding the internet.
not politics
surveillance
free speech cant be secured in a surveillance state. we also have to get the fucking computers to stop recording our every movement, action, and communication to central monitoring algorithms that report to who the fuck knows who looking for who the fuck knows what.
Stupid name
the OP asked about why gab failed as a social media platform, that is what I am referring to in my responses
it's failure as a tool to expose the public to right-wing opinions also stems from the same roots; it did not first court public acceptance and interest, so there was no userbase to bring in to expose to ideas, facts and opinions that they were shielded from on twitter
tldr gab's decision to appeal to right-wingers specifically meant that it could never become popular with the public at large, thus failing as both a twitter competitor and a propaganda outlet for right wing opinions
lol right-wing opinions.
piss
It got consumed by the bug people. When Asia found it the days were numbered.
so their "opinions" could be older than they are
I frequently use dissenter, but I never used twitter or facebook in the first place so there was nothing to replace. Bitchute is still lacking content sadly.
Unfortunately this.
It didn't fail, but it's difficult to compete with an established monopoly. If enough prominent people were to switch over to it exclusively, it would skyrocket in use.
In short, politics.
Look at duckduckgo. Say what you will about them, they are mostly pro-free speech/privacy. But they are quite about it, they don't pick fights with the media. Their social media isn't littered with boomer tier Trump memes. Had gab made a usable interface and held back on the free speech stuff until they "got big", it would have succeeded. Just look at what you first see, it will scare normies away.
I asked 3 questions 2 years ago and I have 388 followers
...
Logo.
I have 1400 followers on gab with few posts.
This sadly.
I personally go on pol and used to lurk gab a lot.
Like all day. I like a "segregated" internet.
But that doesn't mean I'm common enough to make a platform that appeals to me.
typical leafpost
the right are natural followers
look at twitter. if you just repeat the same slogans from the last 30 years you'll have 100-1000s of followers
Because people that care about shitposting and capable of a level of thought outside daily survival are in the extreme minority and you're living in idiocracy happening in real time.
>You're retarded
nah I think it's you
Holy shit.
Cause all these alternative websites get dogged by the alt right/light people and normies dont want to use it
Ok leaf, name on good reason for abortion or mass non-white immigration
I left because they kept deleting my accounts just for praising Saint Bowers and calling for more violence in Minecraft. I don't want anything to do with a shitty social network whose gimmick is "free speech" while they remove content critical of Jews.
(((gabbai)))
Literally gabbai
Why would you be tracking it's userbase population? I'm not sure if you're a retarded liberal or an autistic kekistani.
there isn't any good reasons.
Not only does it not make them disappear, it only makes them hate the left even more. Lefties really are vile.
>freedom to speak your mind is bad!
>censorship and discrimination good!
Maplefags never cease to disappoint me.
This.
>people who have opinions different than my own are cringy and evil!
It started in 80s when crack exploded. It used to refer to people on crack, "based out".
the reason the left is pro choice is because we don't think we or the government can run everyone elses life better than they can.
and the reason they are pro refugee is because we don't believe you should just turn your back on them
Paid shills flooded it with child porn and racist shit, just they did with this site.
Thats because you cucks have no concept of free speech in this country.
I've never seen so many cucks since moving here.
>gabbai
credit where credit is due, they never, ever hide this shit. They prefer to call you a liar when you notice it.
another failure of rightwing ideas. which was actually just a ripoff of twitter
Shitty sight
Shitty app
Censorship
censorship
Caved to censorship police
even when they copy a successful model it fails.
because these people will never have an original idea of their own
based. it doesn't take much effort to ruin anything if you have the know how and the motivation.
Maybe. But dissenter is pretty original and nice to have.
They didn't really live up to the no censorship thing, so in the end they are just a twitter imitation with less users and different bias.
Because all their ideas are good but implemented poorly. All they needed to do was copy twatter as it is, not trying to be all cool and indie and using mobilefag interfaces. Browsing gab is a mess, browsing twatter feels just right.
It failed because they didn't understand how to make it not fail. Boomers understand Twitter since they're on it 24/7 so they're familiar with the setup and how it looks. But on Gab, nothing was familiar and getting a target audience worth a fuck was very very difficult.
looks like just another echo chamber
Oh, so that was your point. That not what you were talking about a post ago?
Torba is a really shitty CEO. He calls everyone cucks and is politically active. Exactly what you dont want heading your company. He managed the controversy horrendously. He should be in the backround and have a lawyer or PR pro in front but its likely too late now.
yeah,
essentially its a circle right of "wrong think"
And what the right really wants,
It to debate & indoctrinate normal fags
And they are all on twitter
but of course twitter are (((shutting it down)))

Usually not being allowed in the app store for what is meant to be mobile doesnt help.
Just because I advocate for free speech doesn't mean I like the kind of genuine retarded boomers and migapedes who believe in white genocide, that's the kind of people gab caters to so fuck it.
I only use Twitter to rt art anyway.
this
and this
not this however, twitter is filled with retards too, so is Jow Forums, not really an argument
kek, kys
this
>I only use Twitter to rt art anyway.
WHY
Because it's the only part of the site I like, I hate memes, I hate black culture, I hate American media, but I can filter all that out and just like some pictures of weebshit.
Gab is the exact same shit as Twitter but with a non-existent art community.
First Follower: Leadership Lessons from Dancing Guy
A leader needs the guts to stand alone and look ridiculous. But what he's doing is so simple, it's almost instructional. This is key. You must be easy to follow!
If you've learned a lot about leadership and making a movement, then let's watch a movement happen, start to finish, in under 3 minutes, and dissect some lessons: A leader needs the guts to stand alone and look ridiculous. But what he's doing is so simple, it's almost instructional. This is key. You must be easy to follow! Now comes the first follower with a crucial role: he publicly shows everyone how to follow. Notice the leader embraces him as an equal, so it's not about the leader anymore - it's about them, plural. Notice he's calling to his friends to join in. It takes guts to be a first follower! You stand out and brave ridicule, yourself. Being a first follower is an under-appreciated form of leadership. The first follower transforms a lone nut into a leader. If the leader is the flint, the first follower is the spark that makes the fire. The 2nd follower is a turning point: it's proof the first has done well. Now it's not a lone nut, and it's not two nuts. Three is a crowd and a crowd is news. A movement must be public. Make sure outsiders see more than just the leader. Everyone needs to see the followers, because new followers emulate followers - not the leader. Now here come 2 more, then 3 more. Now we've got momentum.
This is the tipping point! Now we've got a movement! As more people jump in, it's no longer risky. If they were on the fence before, there's no reason not to join now. They won't be ridiculed, they won't stand out, and they will be part of the in-crowd, if they hurry. Over the next minute you'll see the rest who prefer to be part of the crowd, because eventually they'd be ridiculed for not joining. And ladies and gentlemen that is how a movement is made! Let's recap what we learned: If you are a version of the shirtless dancing guy, all alone, remember the importance of nurturing your first few followers as equals, making everything clearly about the movement, not you. Be public. Be easy to follow! But the biggest lesson here - did you catch it? Leadership is over-glorified. Yes it started with the shirtless guy, and he'll get all the credit, but you saw what really happened: It was the first follower that transformed a lone nut into a leader. There is no movement without the first follower. We're told we all need to be leaders, but that would be really ineffective. The best way to make a movement, if you really care, is to courageously follow and show others how to follow. When you find a lone nut doing something great, have the guts to be the first person to stand up and join in.

I think that format is dying off. Twitter is trending downwards. Gab is much smaller and it doesn't stand much of a chance.
The problem Gab and all alternative social networks have is The Network Effect.
As they become more popular, they become more useful and as more useful, more popular.
But when unpopular, they are not useful.
They would be better off working on a distributed social network protocol which would allow anyone to connect to anyone on any social network.
It moves where the network effect hub applies.
