Millennial here, just bought a home last year. lrn2 pull yourselves up by your bootstraps.
Not living on the coasts helps either, only a literal drooling retard would pay over $250k for a modestly sized home.
Aaron Reyes
Houses are retarded. Land is where it's at. What the point of owning a house with no land? I'd rather have acres of land and a lean-to, that a nice house with no land.
Alexander Morris
>look at case schiller index
>realise homes are more expensive now than before the housing crash.
>want to buy, in a position to do so, decide to renew apartment lease
>rather throw schlomo 10k and wait a year than take a $200k equity hit once prices return to sane levels
Matthew Cooper
>live in bumfuck nowhere, its cheaper here
Its cheaper because its boring and shit. Coast states are superior.
James Thomas
>prices never go down
Henry Cooper
Let's not pretend you actually go out and do stuff with people. You can shitpost on Jow Forums just as well in Mississippi as you can in California.
And for those who think being able to attend Broadway plays is more important than home ownership, they lose the right to bitch if they made the choice to let all their disposable income get sucked up by living in a major city.

Cool, the value of my house is going up.

so what about zoomers? are they literally implying unless millennials buy a home now they'll be priced out forever, and every subsequent generation will be serfs? how do people think that's normal and okay?
Jacob Fisher
>paying 250k for a house in a flyover state
have fun losing it all
Joshua James
>buy a home.
>become a slave.
Idiots.
Jonathan Cox
I could buy your dustbowl palace in cash but my family and work is in California so my $250k is a fucking down payment now. Fuckin Jews.
Joshua Moore
Last year I lost half my teenage staff to mortgage lending companies. Was when I knew it was only a matter of time before shit went tits up. Oldfag who remembers exactly the same thing happening before '08.
Noah Sullivan
You need both. And you can't raise a family in a lean-to.
Grayson Hall
This.
I hate the west coast so much, i cant wait to move back to interior Alaska.
Aiden Adams
What's the alternative?
>rent an apartment
>live in a cube
Lucas Torres
Actually they don't. They are artificially kept high by the state through immigration and welfare. Wouldn't want boomers to lose their unearned pensions, would we?
Gabriel King
>but my family and work is in California
Same reason most people stay there, which means it will just keep getting worse, especially when nobody is allowed to build highrise apartments.
Leo Wood
This guy gets it. I'm 26, just bought a house in February for 206k at 2k sqft. I only live maybe 25 minutes from a major city. The town I live in nice, quiet and already has most of what I need anyway.
>coast states are superior
Jesus fucking christ man. You have to be a super ass blasted faggot to think that shithole Cali, Jew York, Washington, or anywhere near Florida can be called superior. You MIGHT be able to get away with Oregon but that's it.
David Wood
NINA loans are literally buy-to-rent
Joseph Lewis
>scramble
The implication that home prices haven't outpaced CPI (which is a deliberately under reporting standard) since the 90's, that this is a new trend and not the continuation of the last 30 years, is of course propaganda.
People can't afford houses because that's the way the market has been manipulated for over a generation. Anyone saying otherwise is manipulating you.
Dominic Lewis
immigration and welfare are at peak levels in Melbourne and still we are currently haing houses loose value, theres something shifty goin on too.
Brayden Ward
millennial here, I worked my way to Kitchen Chef at Wendy's in 9 months and make $250,000 per year. Bought my 3rd house just for lulz to keep my video games in.

we are just waiting for the bubble to bust again
Colton Martin
This. I bought a house three years ago and I'm waiting for the market to crash so I can buy a second house in a beach town. 0% chance of losing my job in a recession too.
Zachary Ross
Another world crisis huh? How original, mother fuckers...
Xavier Gutierrez
I want to move to Maine so much bros.
Andrew Parker
It's possible that young people are buying THAT less houses. Either way, the whole system is bound to collapse sooner or later, it could be even happening now.
Jason Bailey
It’s not going to crash in the same way it did back in 08.
Hunter Wood
The price of a house is 90% the land on which it sits.
Jose Edwards
it'll crash when trump kills all the zoomers sending them to iran
Elijah Miller
>The price of a house is 90% the land on which it sits.
Pretty much true, it depends on the area.
My house is on 40 acres (16 hectares).
This house has 1266 acres (512 hectares)
Brayden Parker
What jobs do you have? Where do or will your kids go for training or education? Which closest town has a specialist for a particular medical condition?
Aiden Edwards
How does that work? None of them have property.
Chase Wilson
Just settle for a cheap starter home like related guys. Perfect place to start a family.
David Kelly
it's cause rentals to go into foreclosure
Ian Campbell
how the fuck do you earn enough money to buy a house? do you just live with your parents for like 10 years and then finally move out?
Elijah Phillips
your career progression will increase your take home income exponentially until you can afford a house

1. Immigrate to Somalia
2. Illegally immigrate to Europe
3. Get a free house
Nicholas Rivera
I don't pay too much to the jobs because I'm a network engineer and I work on the outskirts of the city.
The public schools in the town I live are rated really high, 8/10 for all with middle being 7/10, but I really want my wife to homeschool.
We have clinics in ny town but the closest hospital is about 15 minutes away over in the next town.

HOT TAKE:
Tariffs on Canadian lumber make USA homes more expensive.
(USA lumber is inferior quality so you either build a vastly inferior house or import from a more expensive country)
Kevin Wood
I can't save more than $350/month now that I live on my own. I could save $1,750 when I lived with my parents and still have the same amount of spending money as I currently have.
Isaac Rogers
you're doing everything right, live to satisfy your means while young and enjoy things such as travel and adventures. When you're old and millionarie, none of that shit will matter anyways because you'll be too old and fragile to spend your money the way you want. Look at all of the boomers in their expensive cars, they look stupid. I'd rather have lots of money that I waste while young and die young than be a slave to shit job in my prime years only to have money at old age with pretty much a flu being able to wipe me out. Live young, live dangerously, leave a good looking corpse, and if you happen to survive, you can always write a book about your adventures and get enough to live modest in your old age.
Andrew Sullivan
Millennial here. Own 2 houses. Hope you fags like paying rent. And please dont be late.
Samuel Wright
>only a literal drooling retard would pay over $250k for a modestly sized home
Depends where you live, idiot.
You're paying for land (location) not the building, ffs.
You want to live in Beverly Hills or Vancouver, you're going to pay millions for a modest-sized house.
You want to live in Detroit or Cleveland or Omaha, it's a different story.
Jace Bell
Is it me, or is the middle class dying in America?
Seems as if there is no more middle class anymore except in midwestern shit hole flyover states in bum fuck egypt, USA.
Hunter Wilson
Housing will be a lot cheaper once the U.S. civil war kicks off in 2020.
David Flores
coming from a leaf that's a normie take.
Landon Hughes
See, I can guarantee when people like you say you "bought a home", in reality you took out a huge fucking loan and mortgage plan with absurd interest. They probably tagged you with a $800-$1000~ monthly payment, and jacked up the interest rates. So around $200 of that is the actual payment on your principal balance and the rest is interest. So you end up paying almost $1.1M for a house that was priced at "$250k".
So if pulling yourself up by your bootstraps means getting scammed, then you certainly did. Enjoy getting scammed because the realtor says these "rates" are as low as they can go when in reality they're lying through their teeth and upcharging you 400% over the course of 25-50 years.
t. Realtor
Henry Baker
>Own
you don't own shit, moron. try not paying property taxes for few years and see how much you really "own"
Carson Long
>Seems as if there is no more middle class anymore
Jason Powell
I’m gonna rent your house and won’t pay for as many months as possible, rinse and repeat. Enjoy having to pay double mortgage nigger
Caleb Morgan
Who hurt you? Did you lose everything?
Matthew Williams
especially in the Bay Area where I live or Santa Cruz where I go to college. they're expensive and millennials are the reason (tech/gown).
There's a third thing I might mean by "buy a home". You see Mom's accumulated capital and wants to corner the Westside housing market (the part of Santa Cruz closest to UC). Also she charges below market rents ($1200 for a master bedroom and only goes down from there) because I (her vaguely anarchist failson) lobbied her to do that.
Bentley Robinson
Welcome to the human race. Did you know we're actually evil? Yeah, that's why rich people just keep hoarding more and more.

Jayden Long
sure you can

Maybe a few. Most owners will just allow section 8 before that happens.
Asher Richardson
This. They pulled the plug within the last 3 years. Hillary was supposed to win, the middle class finally destroyed through excess greed and hoarding, plus the fed. The NWO was supposed to start, and it kinda is actually.
Nathaniel Barnes
I don't subscribe to Rousseau's notion either. I suspend judgment on humanity.
Christian Harris
You don’t know shit about real estate. Most of the value of real property is the land that the house is on.
Christian Bailey
Shut up you chump loser I want to live by the beach where I grew up.

Agenda 21. The elite will own everything nice, and you will be forced into a megacity.
John Ortiz
No I was thinking they pulled the plug in the 1980s when productivity outstripped wages for the first time, meaning capitalists were paying a smaller and smaller proportion of the wealth their workers created back to them, not satisfied with the constant percentage (already >50%) of their workers' wealth that they had been stealing beforehand
Jeremiah Cruz
I agree with you on that, against the leaf
Jace Turner
God. We and the Zoomers (basically the same generation at an economic and cultural level) are absolutely fucked, aren't we? At this rate we wont be in a stable situation until we're in our 60s.
Anthony Ortiz
I meant to reply to the leaf
Jose Nelson
Fine, but the acceleration towards evil is beyond comparison since 2008., but more like since 2015. I used to live in an apartment, and every 2 weeks they would raise my rent 30 dollars. They create the ghetto society, dumbing us down, then they hate us for being poor and stupid.
Adrian Ross
>until we're in our 60s.
lol! try 20 years on top of that. Boomers are still holding job positions when they were supposed to retire 20 years ago. GenX will be in their 60 when taking over, then GenMe will be in their late 70's if not later. Zoomers are fuuuuuuuuucked.
Ryder Kelly
Ive bought 2 homes in the past 2.5 years with cash. No mortgage. I make 90k/yr after taxes. Why is mortgaging a house the default setting with you fucks? Save your fucking money!!!

Asher Cook
That's bullshit, Crystal Tears.
Generation X (1960-1975) was preceeded by the Boomers(1945 - 1960).
And Gen X had all the same articles in Time and Rolling Stone and Newsweek and wherever about how the Boomers had it so easy and how there were so many more of them then Gen X'ers.
And how the Boomers had fucked the economy and environment and future...
...but Gen X'ers made something of themselves. Why can't you?
Too much coddling.
Trophies for participating made you soft.
Internet porn reduced your need for real relationships.
Video games were a substitute for real success of whatever size.
Get back in the real world.
Grow a set of testicles.
And start making a life for your fucking selves.
Aiden Flores

>not inheriting real estate
Worth how much? Your post made me look up real estate prices in the Czech Republic and it seems pretty fucking cheap. I mean, I know it's eastern Europe and all but pic related is listed for $20k and looks pretty cozy.
