Actually just recently i've gone through the same thing. Had a tight knit group of online buds, my only friends. One of them decided to transition and I was willing to go along with it so long as no weird shit happened. Well weird shit ended up happening ( i'm not gonna go into it or im gonna out myself ) and my hand was forced.
Been pretty much in complete isolation the past year. It's been really rough and I don't think i'll be able to form new friendships with folks, I have like an ""autistic version of PTSD"" I just can't put it into words. Hopefully things will change but i'm still torn up.
