I accept that the study of the data transfer rate rules out internet based exfiltration of DNC emails.
But, the Mueller Report is unequivocal that the hack was carried out by GRU over the internet.
Something doesn't add up. Additionally, the DNC email server was apparently never handed over to the DOJ for investigation.
So either Mueller accepted at face value the private investigation conclusion that Russia did it, or the Russians violated the laws of physics to extract such a large amount of data, or the study is wrong.
Of course, it could just be political and Mueller wanted to re-affirm the intelligence community (really just the ODNI/NSA/FBI/CIA) conclusion that Russia did it to justify the witch-hunt itself, so no reason to turn over stones. But then the IG might find that when Trump inevitably directs a DOJ internal investigation, which happened immediately. That's a big risk, only avoidable by speedy impeachment proceedings which literally cannot go anywhere so long as McConnell in the Senate refuses to bring the matter before the Senate.

But my point was that IF Mueller uncritically accepted the party line that Russia did it, and it comes out in the IG report that that simply isn't true and can't be true, the Mueller is risking treason charges for helping run a political hit job on a sitting president. And I don't think Mueller and the myriad other people involved in this are willing to put their own necks on the line to do so.
