Those "regulations" republicans keep bitching about are things like labor laws. We have child labor in the US and it is within agriculture jobs (Republicans). OSHA is a good thing, so many states play fast and lose with their safety laws maiming their workers. Hospitals buy skin by the square meter to cover fire damage from oil rigs. Republicans want lower costs but those costs come in the blood of the workers who need to work in those bullshit environments.

They dont have to do shit if they dont want, and those regulations also keep wages down while paying people who arent in anyway in danger.

Funny thing is I have been honest this whole time. While I did not get to choose to close that plant I did facilitate in the automation TOW and knowledge transfer as closing a union place can be odd. You need to get them out ASAP before they find out they are gone and sabotage. Then you re-learn what they did and spin up the new group, golden handcuffs are nice but it is harder to get a company to agree to them. If you talk with any engineer who has been in the business for a few years they will fundamentally reject unions as we all get fucked by them at least once. I once saw them try and slash my bosses tires but accidentally hit the union rep's, that shit was hilarious.

My manufacturing automation place is non union in a right to get fired state.

I make half what union men do at the exact same work. Exact same. Same machines, same company.
