Is zizek worth listening to if I want to understand the stance modern day communists are taking?
What are your thoughts on him?

Absolutely not.
Are there alternative philosophers that challenge his ideas you know of?
Or are you disregarding him because he’s a “communist”?
he's not a clinical psychologist or w/e he's an actual philosopher and professor for distinguished schools in europe so keep that mind. you're not going to get life advice. i guess what im saying is depends on your intent
> He was a member of the Communist Party of Slovenia until October 1988
Never, ever trust a commie.
Leftists claimed him prematurely because he touts marxist class consciousness as historically valuable, which it is. They have all but bailed on him at this point except for enlightened centrists because he rejects post-modernist deconstructionism
>you're not going to get life advice.
Yeah because unless you are Dr ''wash your penis'' Peterstein you cannot give out life advice. Idc about that commie autist but you comment was just too retarded for me to ignore.
I’m a right wing libertarian and I was mostly curious about his criticisms of capitalism since I think he’s a marxist/communist.
From what I’ve heard I think he’s critical of the destruction his beliefs caused in the past countless times too, which is kind of retarded, but I think he also believes new ideas can work.
>rejection of post modernist deconstructionism
Nice. He's automatically worth listening to just based on this.
