I'm in sonoma county. (75-80 miles north of SF) Same town I grew up in. very expensive, lots of jews and lots of mexicans. Lots of weed, beer and wine. Scenery is absolutely gorgeous.
Further up North is very nice as well, both coastal and inland. I haven't spent much time down south. All of the women appear to be absolute trash. 1 good girl for every 5,000, and that's a generous estimate.
Political climate is mostly die hard liberals and neocons.
I don't see myself living here for much longer.

I love the counties above the Bay Area, very beautiful.

Im in the central valley of CA, its pretty shitty. It smells, housing and employment are absolutely fucked, and our already bad homeless population is growing thanks to the tolerant and supportive liberal coastal cities busing their hobos here in droves.
If the local governments here werent full of retards we might actually be pretty well off. Its also incredibly diverse here, and by that i mean actually diverse not just shitskins. Whites blacks asians hispanics etc and all their subgroups are pretty well represented.

Im sure anywhere around/between SF and LA you are basically assumed to be liberal but its not like that here. Pretty good purple mix around my area (209) but generally leans liberal

The Sierra Foothill towns along Highway 49 are still nice. Oakdale in Stanislaus County on Highway 120 is an old ranch/Western (as opposed to being farm oriented) town (population around 20,000). It's still white majority. At least for now.

The urbanized portions of this state get a little worse year by year. And more and more expensive.
