Personally, my interpretation of the first amendment is less radical than yours. It's about having a mechanism in society for the people (as a group) to make their grievances known and to speak their mind.
The number of people who are former politicians is exceedingly small, and this particular restriction is not going to have any real bad effects on society as a whole. The decision to become a politician is totally voluntary, and it makes sense that wielding such power carries extra responsibilities associated with it.

Listen, the first amendment (and all the amendments) exist to protect the citizenry from government tyranny. A lifetime ban on lobbying would REDUCE the tyranny of corrupt government agents. He's not really a mere citizen, he's something in between agent and a citizen.
It's about defending the people from bad government systems.

As the government uses taxes and laws to disincentivize citizens from taken actions laws banning politicians from being lobbyist will disincentivize those who want to turn an election win into a lifelong career in lobbying even if the people vote them out and no longer want them influencing politics
