theres a police shooting range and tons of other random gunfire at random odd hours around my house, even happens at 3 am sometimes pretty close to my house in the woods. never once been even slightly worried because its just the sound of america.

It's not like I'd expect everybody to go around like they're about storm Iraq or something, but you do kind of wonder why they wouldn't have some sort of equivalence to a civilian setup, even if it means you'd have to apply for a permit to carry and go through some sort of extra training and testing to maintain it or some such thing.
