The Army doesnt make you good, you must be good on your own. So if you are a scum bag going in, nothing will change. But if you want to be all that you can be, the Army will help you unlock your potential.

I'm thinking about joining the navy, but I'm reluctant for a few reasons.

Firstly, I don't want to get a dozen shots on my first day of PT. Is there any way to get out of that? Secondly, how mutted is the navy? Am I going to be forced to work as a team with tyrone and hernandez?
Lastly, how rigiours is the training? I've read that it is a joke compared to how it was even a decade ago. Is that true?

No, I tried. The shots weren't on the first day of PT, for me it was towards the end of OCS (they didn't want to waste shots on people who were going to drop out).

Significantly, but it depends on your rate or officer community. Some are worse than others. I'm in a very white officer community but there's tons of women which is almost worse.

Yes, you are. And if you show any powerlevel at all expect to get complaints filed against you.

For boot camp, yeah it's a fucking joke. OCS is still challenging because it's run by marine drill instructors, but it's still less rigorous than it was a decade ago. After bootcamp or OCS, you're typically not required to do command PT, and for commands where it is required it's more an excuse to play around and interact with the command for the CO than for actual training. BUDS is the hardest PT you can expect in the Navy, and that's to become a Navy SEAL.

Overall, you shouldn't join the Navy, or any military branch, unless you have absolutely no other options. It's a giant waste of your time and the government's resources and you'll work for and with complete idiots who have no idea what they're doing. It's very taxing psychologically, to the point where I regret not joining the Army because at least they get shot at from time to time (although their bureaucracy is just as bad as the Navy, if not worse, so I don't really regret not joining the Army).

Do something more productive with your life, like becoming a plumber or electrician. You'll make more money and actually be doing something useful
