Nice! I was waiting for this thread! Mass was good. I was super tired though. Decent sermon. My only problem is the chronic lack of women between the ages of 18-25 in my parish. small town means it's the only parish for at least 2 hours, so really that means no eligible women period. but it's okay. I guess it helps me focus on mass and not get distracted by women. I wish there was at least one or two girls though. closest one is 15... too young to even approach, much less date.

that verse is not saying having a wife or children is a requirement, it is saying that if a married man becomes a bishop he must only have one wife, not many. it is also suggesting that he be older and have children, because it was expected that he would remain celibate (even if married).

I disagree, the original belief was that the holy spirit and son both proceed straight from the father himself so why was it changed? doesn't sound right to me. the authority the orthodox follow was the church fathers not rome or the papacy, which I think would be understandable as to why we reject the filioque

I don't think any Church father said the Son proceeds from the Father, but rather is eternally begotten. Also, I'm not aware of any Church Father explicitly saying the Spirit does not proceed from the Son.
I do know that the Gospel says Jesus will send forth the Spirit.
The goal of Christians is always to help other people see the light. The joy of salvation, to feel the mercy of God, to attain his salvation through discipline of the mind and avoidance of sin.
The way our enemies pervert our intentions causes me a heavy heart. It’s not about us redpilling on Christ, we want you to see the truth and wake up to it on a very spiritual level. In time, hopefully, more and more will feel this truth and bear witness to Christ and the Word of God.
