It ised to be for education. We wanted doctors, engineers and other types to have a baseline amount of knowledge in their fields before advancing to hands-on practice. Later, it served as an IQ proxy when the federal government banned IQ testing because it was deemed "racist". A high school diploma used to mean someone was functionally literate and could perform basic arithmetic, but eventually primary schools were deemed racist because not enough brown people were passing, so the standards were lowered so more could graduate. Then colleges were deemed racist because here are these brown kids with high school diplomas, but not enough are being admitted, and then that turned into "but not enough are graduating". So the standards were lowered and brown people were taught how to use spellcheck and grammar-check, snd how to pick the best answer out of a 4-choice multiple choice exam, and now more and more brown people of low intelligence are receiving honorary degrees. Now the work force is racist because not enough "qualified" brown people are getting jobs, after all they have the same resume as the White graduates.

Face it; much of what you are is determined by genetics. A lot of people don't want to know that truth for several reasons. One is that it means there is very little you can do to change your IQ, either up or down. So much for Baby Einstein and those stupid brain games they claim improve your memory or make you smarter. Severe malnutrition and lead poisoning are a couple things that can lower it substantially. People hate to think they have no control over what they are, but when it comes to something like IQ, you really don't. Just luck of the draw.
But even if your kids are high IQ, don't send them to shit schools thinking it won't matter. You want them associating with as few undesirables as possible, and making as many positive connections with helpful (wealthy, high IQ) people as possible.

I sort of agree. I was one of those kids who got "home schooled", but my parents didn't actually teach me anything and I just sort of did nothing. Looking at schools from the outside, I'm sort of amazed at how worthless they are. It's like they're designed to steal as much time as possible while giving as little education or benefits to justify the immense loss in agency. The main problem with not sending kids to school is that our social conditions aren't ripe enough for children to go play out in the streets and make friends like that. You have to keep them safe, indoors. Applying that to home schooled children gets you people like me who are too socially isolated to relate even to people on Jow Forums. It's fucking bizarre what loneliness does to the mind. It strengthens your mind, gives it clarity, yet it's so painful. You don't send your kids to Eton and Harrow for the grades. You send them there for the teaching and culture that instills massive self-confidence in them. There are far fewer students per teacher compared to most schools and those teachers do a lot more than just robotically reading out the curriculum to students and teaching them how to pass exams. The teachers can have more one-to-ones with the students, get them involved in extracurricular activities and properly mentor them. Aside from the dropouts, ex Etonians and Harrovians have chad like confidence, even when it's completely unearned. The two schools are politician factories for a reason.
Kids also get to network early on in a group where some of the richest and most powerful people in the country will eventually emerge. So even the thick as shit kids will have an easier ride, because they were school chums with a gang of senior partners and QCs. That networking combined with huge self confidence gives them a real advantage in later life.

The only thing I think can seriously affect mental capacity beyond IQ is how it was stimulated in the most formative years, i.e. as a baby, child, etc. A child who gets a lot of attention from his parents through reading, normal conversation, educational programs(primarily from parents), pattern recognition exercises and practical activities(helping dad do work around the house, even if it consists of him just being there while Dad does the work) or being introduced to cooking with mom(again, in a manner similar to "working" with Dad) will instill patterns and habits into him that are associated with high level mental activity. A kid who is read to every night and eventually reads with dad every night is going to be a lot better off, etc. Obviously won't make him jump from 100 to 140 IQ, but will indirectly teach him how to use his brain. Which is huge. I don't know if there's been scientific studies on that kind of thing, there really should be.

If you took Russian pre-u (like difficult a-levels) and did navy or RAF ccf (combined cadet force) and then went to oxbridge (for something like maths (or whatever lol) and Russian) you would get earmarked. Half way through ur second year at uni u will be approached, and discretely go through the selection process. We then go on to be CFOs and stuff and be corporate spies or we become ((ambassadors)) and run spy networks out of the embassy (this is how intelligence gathering actually works fyi). A lot of the kids at these schools are ambassadors kids or military kids who have the fees payed for by the government.
