Redpill me on internet browsers. Which are the best and why?
Internet Browsers
dissenter
Google chrome with no add-ons so you blend in with 70% of the worlds users
Only fags use the internet
Safari is the best because apple doesn't give your personal information to the secret police.
^
Kek
use vivaldi. its aesthetic and highly customizable.
also cant load stuff
IE
>thinking the secret police need to ask apple
Kek
None of them.
Chrome, Edge, Opera, Vivaldi, Brave, Dissenter and a lot of other browsers are based on Chromium, which is almost completely developed by Google. If Google decides to change something in Chromium (like how they did recently by crippling some API used by adblockers) the rest has to deal with it. Since Google specializes in stealing your data Chrome, Chromium and it's forks are a bad idea.
Firefox isn't based on other browsers, but lately
Mozilla has being doing stupid shit in an attempt to be more like Chrome, like killing their own add-on system and using Google's or spending their money on unrelated projects, and since Google funds Mozilla is safe to think that they're compromised.
This leaves smaller projects run by independent people, but these projects often are a fork of one of the big browsers (like Iridium, ungoogled Chromium, Waterfox and Pale Moon) or are too undeveloped (Qutebrowser, Otter, Midori).
There's also Apple's Safari that is only available for macOS and iOS and has a shitty add-on system.
not for most stuff but we know apple has refused to give encryption keys to "le" which is more than we can say for anyone else.
Brave Browser
I don't think that's how it works user.
They all depend on Chromium to exist, and since Google controls Chromium they are subjected to Google's will.
4chanx doesn't work on brave for some reason
>Which are the best and why?
Laurafox!
>runs on Windows 98
>the glow in the darks can't hack it
Cons:
>stutters
>can quit on you unexpectedly
>if you've a vulnerable PSU, it can blow up your PC tower
Says the guy that's easy to track because he uses ice cat with 20 add ons making his browser footprint similar to maybe .002 percent of the worlds users
Real men browse from the command line using only curl and less.
Brave is my favorite, with StartPage as my default search engine.
Ones that are not run by ad company or multinational corporation likely to sell all your telemetry data to whomever.
As opposite to being completely tracked by Google and its buddies at the NSA?
Paint
exactly this.
What about Firefox? I also use Startpage.
Opera is the dog's bollocks as long as you disable opera's built in adblocker and install ublock origin
tor
I would have to say Tor because of the uh, freedom it provides.
Believe me guys, only right wing speech gets censored ALL OVER the internet. The rest you can find on Tor or similar browsers.
DuckDuckGo and Tor, don't use Chrome or Mozilla, they are stealing your information and browsing history
Google and Opera seem to have gone to shit lately.
Isn't Opera what the Chinese are using to spy on the world these days?
> Firefox + NoScript + privacy badger + container tabs
Best for everyday use
> Brave
Good for newfags who can't setup Firefox properly
The rest is just Trojan horses
Brave Browser because it focuses on privacy and the founder hates fags.
Chromium is open source so it doesn’t matter
I forgot, Brave doesn’t work on Jow Forums
I normally just use a Chrome incognito window for Jow Forums
I use Firefox because it's all I've ever used.
Lynx or links2.
Text based, non of that java shit works, ads don’t work. No distraction from content.
Cons, only text which shows you 99% of sites have no content, harder to online shop.
Use a fork of older firefox if you don't want to deal with google software (probably waterfox).
Brave is chromiumshit and exposes your info to advertisers via custom HTTP headers, it's shilled on Jow Forums constantly by some ESL indian and a bunch of retards took the bait.
I googled that because I thought you were talking shit and I learned 1. Opera isn't open source 2. Some chinese guys bought opera for $600 million a couple of years ago
Well fuck I guess I should stay more in the loop on things.
I'm now looking for something open source and non chromium based.
proof of shilling btw
All spy on you.
This table seems a decent place to start?
en.wikipedia.org
So let's say one that's open source and has been updated at least this year
Basilisk? Pale Moon?
Can anyone redpill me on MPL? What's the difference between that and GPL?
Stop resisting Brave you schitzo, it works so much better than other browsers and blocks everything without issue. I'll never use firefox again, their code is shit. I'll never get malware on Brave and will never have to deal with firefox memory leaks again.
Did Temple OS have a built in web browser?
I use brave
laptop-updates.brave.com
No networking, there's only seas of garbage and glow in the dark niggers on the internet.
(((OP)))
I'll probably just switch back to firefox since it's open source and not chromium based. Don't like how much brave is being shilled
Firefox + config tweaks + some addons
Trying Brave as my new back up (although i almost never use it)
And Tor for some shit.
Obligatory
And his fingerprints are different every time he clics a link or refreshes a page
Spoofing does exist.
Canvas+screen size+internal clock+fonts installed+Mac address +plus OS name and version detection are sufficient to find you out.
false sense of discretion...
Wrong, brave used chrome as a base and doesn’t rely on chromium updates. It’s a different platform.
Wrong, brave used just the base chromium to make brave. The two don’t interact anymore. Brave is separate you fucking brainlet.
Part of me regrets never taking VPN or internet security/anonymity seriously, but really, if you're the person seeking that out and trying to do it, it is more likely that the three letter agencies are profiling you and not me.
I’m posting using brave on iOS. Windows it has problems though sometimes.
Dissenter is great. It's is a Brave code branch developed by GAB. They've taken out all the bad tracking bits and it's much safer and quicker than Brave.
Chrome is the best.
