Bible: call no man father
Catholics: ok lets call our clergy father
Bible: don’t make or bow down to statues
Catholics: let’s make statues and bow down to them
Bible: There is “one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;”
Catholics: ok mary is our mediatrix
Bible: don’t use vain repetitions when you pray (and uses the Lord’s prayer as an example how to pray)
Catholics: ok lets take the lords prayer and pray it repeatedly

daddy's cummies are the sacrament

No catholic calls a priest father, that's a protestant thing.
Idolatry is a matter settled long before the reformation and is accepted by both catholics and protestants.
Mary is not a mediator between God and Jesus because God and Jesus are the same thing.
I'd like to see where the bible prohibits repetitions during prayers, because it was he himself who taught men how to pray and how to receive his body and blood.

>Bible: don’t make or bow down to statues
What it means is that you shouln't believe the statues are gods(like pagans used to believe the gods are living in the statues. We don't think the God is living in a statue, we just use statues to imagine God easier. It helps during prayer.
Unfortunately I don't remember the argumentation for the other ones. I'm pretty bad at remembering arguments.

The only language pirests are called fathers is english you mong

8 Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth:
9 Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,

Not even the most vain and ignorant stone-age savages thought they could shape rock and literally create a God, they also prayed to their idols as representations.
Do you actually think Greeks thought every statue of Zeus they made was literally Zeus?

Literally all of them call priests fathet

I live in a catholic country, always been a catholic, been to multiple churches.
The only times I've heard people call priests "father" was in hollywood movies set in america

Bible: The seventh day is God's sabbath
Catholics and protestants: well Sunday works best for me though

What does pope mean, then?

Yeah, Catholics are just as bad as the mormons.

I have never called a priest father, nor have I ever heard it other then in AMERICAN movies

>call no man Father
Have you actually read the Bible? There are so many cases of disciples and other figures calling other spiritually significant people Father. That quote is directed towards people falsely attributing themselves as spiritual leaders.
>muh idolatry
This commandment forbids worshipping anyone other than the Lord; during the time of Moses his tribe worshipped a statue of a bull, and worshipped other statues dedicated to their ancestors or animals. There is nothing wrong with creating religious art to remind us of our faith-- when we kneel at a statue of Jesus we are worshipping Jesus, not the statue itself.
>muh mary worship
No Catholic worships Mary, instead we ask her to pray for us. Due to her divinity she is closer to God and her son Christ and Catholic, so she can ask God to assist in earthly matters. She does not do any of this herself, and she is venerated but not worshipped or revered. The same goes for all the saints.
>vain repetitions
Comes from a heretic translation written by a Protestant zealot King, who created his own corruption of the Bible for political gain. The closest translation is
>'But thou when thou shalt pray, enter into thy chamber, and having shut the door, pray to thy Father in secret: and thy Father who seeth in secret will repay thee. And when you are praying, speak not much, as the heathens. For they think that in their much speaking they may be heard.'
Clearly this means do not chant and shout like pagans do when they cry out to their gods. Instead, introspective thought and meditation is the truest way to speak to God.

Pope literally means father...

Ok pope means father, in greek though (which was established in the 3rd century, I'm pretty sure if it wasn't considered heresy then, it wouldn't be now), the 'latin' word which we italians still use most of the time is "pontefice" which means "bridge-maker", I assume because he's the closest connection between humanity and God

So before he was father he was the mediator to God, when we already have Jesus

Interpreting the Bible in a way that suits your needs is the Christian way. Your entire religion is built on a 2000 year old jewish heresy.

Jesus isn't a "mediator" between humanity and God, he IS God made man in blood and flesh

Who cares christcuck

This

>Clearly this means do not chant and shout like pagans do when they cry out to their gods
Because catlicks never chant lmao

>No catholic calls a priest father, that's a protestant thing.

Lol, no.

We don't need a manmade authority for the purpose of bridging us to God, Jesus said He intercedes for us to God in our prayers and we also have the holy spirit that Jesus gave us access to as a help. The pope and the catholic church are making their own rules and calling it Christian

>we don't ask mary to help us out
>we just ask her to help us out with god helping us out
>if it's indirect it's not real
Pharisee tier arguing and jew tier arguing when they say that they didn't kill Jesus. You people really are spiritual jews.

You also don't understand how idols work. An idol is an representation of for example a god. If I take a statue of some random god and pray to it am not "praying to the statue" but praying to what is represented.

Like where? Nigger, you live in a majority protestant country, I've lived more than 20 in a predominantly catholic country and no other catholic on this thread told you otherwise.
No one calls priests fathers under catholicism.
If it isn't a protestant thing then it's a fucking hollywood troupe.

thefreedictionary.com/padre
>1. Father. Used as a form of address for a priest in Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Latin America.

This
No image of *anything* in *heaven or on earth*
Pretty clear

>We don't need a manmade authority for the purpose of bridging us to God
Judging by the shamble in which yours and other protestant countries are, I'd say you clearly do.

>tfw I know this but continue to do it as per tradition

Ok, nigger, trust a fucking free online dictionary or hollywood movies instead of multiple primary sources lmao

What title do Italians give priests if not Padre?

>Italians giving literally any other country grief about their country being "in shambles"
HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHAHHAHAHHAHA
The absolute fucking state.

Theyre called fathers in spanish too

I will disprove you in no time at all,
In my own thread:

I was raised a Roman Catholic and most of my family are RC. The priest was always referred to by the title 'Father'.

Our current situation in germany is no wonder as we are governed by a party which was formerly an all-catholic party and still mostly relies on the catholic vote. They are catholic in spirit, exactly the reason for them being traitors.

Do you want to know which party Angela Merkel belongs to?

>due to her divinity
Idolatry

Asking someone for help isn't worshipping them, faggot. Neither is respecting someone who has accomplished more than you. According to your logic, asking a friend to say a prayer for you is evil, as is looking up to a wise grandparent.

Jesus is not forbidding us to call men “fathers” who actually are such—either literally or spiritually. He is warning people against inaccurately attributing fatherhood—or a particular kind or degree of fatherhood—to those who do not have it.

As the apostolic example shows, some individuals genuinely do have a spiritual fatherhood, meaning that they can be referred to as spiritual fathers. What must not be done is to confuse their form of spiritual paternity with that of God. Ultimately, God is our supreme protector, provider, and instructor. Correspondingly, it is wrong to view any individual other than God as having these roles.

Thus it is right to call the priests of the Roman church anointed by the apostolic hands of Saints Peter and Paul our fathers, given their apostolic mission in the church.

This will be totally ignored.

Wow wtf based Protestants

Attached: open the borders goy.jpg (3000x3174, 2.83M)

He shouldn't have said "divinity" he should have said "sainthood".

Based

Prayer is a form of worship you fucking retard.

The New Testament is filled with examples of and references to spiritual father-son and father-child relationships. It is worth quoting some of them here.

Paul regularly referred to Timothy as his child: “Therefore I sent to you Timothy, my beloved and faithful child in the Lord, to remind you of my ways in Christ” (1 Cor. 4:17); “To Timothy, my true child in the faith: grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord” (1 Tim. 1:2); “To Timothy, my beloved child: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord” (2 Tim. 1:2).

He also referred to Timothy as his son: “This charge I commit to you, Timothy, my son, in accordance with the prophetic utterances which pointed to you, that inspired by them you may wage the good warfare” (1 Tim 1:18); “You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus” (2 Tim. 2:1); “But Timothy’s worth you know, how as a son with a father he has served with me in the gospel” (Phil. 2:22).

Why don’t heretics read the Bible?

Tuesday could be the seventh day. The calender days were invented long after the earth was created.

In the Bible the concept of fatherhood is not restricted to just our earthly fathers and God. It is used to refer to people other than biological or legal fathers, and is used as a sign of respect to those with whom we have a special relationship.

For example, Joseph tells his brothers of a special fatherly relationship God had given him with the king of Egypt: “So it was not you who sent me here, but God; and he has made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house and ruler over all the land of Egypt” (Gen. 45:8).

Job indicates he played a fatherly role with the less fortunate: “I was a father to the poor, and I searched out the cause of him whom I did not know” (Job 29:16). And God himself declares that he will give a fatherly role to Eliakim, the steward of the house of David: “In that day I will call my servant Eliakim, the son of Hilkiah . . . and I will clothe him with [a] robe, and will bind [a] girdle on him, and will commit . . . authority to his hand; and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and to the house of Judah” (Isa. 22:20–21).

This type of fatherhood applies not only to those who are wise counselors (like Joseph) or benefactors (like Job) or both (like Eliakim); it also applies to those who have a fatherly spiritual relationship with one. For example, Elisha cries, “My father, my father!” to Elijah as the latter is carried up to heaven in a whirlwind (2 Kgs. 2:12). Later, Elisha himself is called a father by the king of Israel (2 Kgs. 6:21).

Calling priests "father" in this vein is perfectly fine, it's the earthly father, not divine "Father"

Bible: the jews killed jesus and refused to repent or even acknowledge him as the messiah
Envangelists: Israel is biggest ally

>Hoping nobody calls you on your BS so you don't have to argue
Yikes

Can this board withstand cope levels of this magnitude?

Matthew 23:9 doesn't mean what it actually says?

Seventh Day Adventists are retards who worship an angel.

If protestants actually read their Bibles they wouldn't be protestant anymore

Attached: 1550431300057.jpg (972x1024, 115K)

>(like pagans used to believe the gods are living in the statues. We don't think the God is living in a statue, we just use statues to imagine God easier.

So deluded if you think this is what pagans actually thought. You are idol worshippers just as much as pagans are.

>The Apostles of Christ: Jesus rose on Sunday so that is the new sabbath under the new covenant

FTFY

And yet, Jesus literally founded a Church of men with Peter as its leader to guide Christians and settle disagreements on issues of belief and daily life. Hmmm....

That’s why Ive bailed on the Catholic Church. Among other reasons. Go find a New Testament Church. They are strictly about what’s in the Bible and not “reinterpreting” anything.
youtu.be/eKzVmk988iQ

>how to receive his body and blood
yup this doesn't scream insane cult AT ALL

Attached: 1554641886829.jpg (300x296, 18K)

No, it literally isn't. It's a form of communication. If you try to send telepathic messages to your friend you aren't worshipping your friend. You may be a little weird, but you're not worshipping them.

To be fair "This verse doesn't mean what it actually says" is something virtually all christians engage in.

>Oh no ive been found out
Quick make shure every envangelist cuts his dick because catholics are already at 100%

The Apostles were there to spread the word. Today’s Catholic Church has been corrupted.

Can confirm what Gianluca is saying, we don't call priests father either, we use 'velečasni', which would mean very honorable or something like that. The Mother of God thing is extremely prevalent though, as is invocation of a whole host of Saints to put in a good word for you. However, Priests who I've had conversations with don't really encourage this, this is more of a cultural than a religious thing, Mother of God is for example a big divider between Catholicism and Orthodoxy, so that might be the case. Orthodox Christians don't pray to her nearly as much as far as I know.

The Catholic Church literally put the Bible together, you idiot.

But the numerous schismatic heretical sects following some German moron named Luther all have it right, huh?

This is the old testament right, FOH with that kike stuff. The Bible contradicts itself more than an observing Catholic contradicts the bible.

They wern't just to spead the word, please actually read Acts of the Apostles

why do you think they made such a big deal about replacing Judas? They had to choose a successor.

The King James Version, also known as the King James Bible or simply the Version, is an English translation of the Christian Bible for the Church of England, begun in 1604 and completed in 1611. The books of the King James Version include the 39 books of the Old Testament, an intertestamental section containing 14 books of the Apocrypha, and the 27 books of the New Testament.
I could go on but it makes no mention of the Catholic Church.

No you see it's different because they have a lot of members and have been doing it for a while.

TBF reformation of the curch was pretty based, but since it has taken a major turn for the worse. Catholicism has plenty of flaws, but you can be sure it protects itself and the followers before anyone else, at least from my experience.

I don’t know anything about them. All I can tell you is I don’t trust today’s Catholic Church. My problems go way back but my most recent example is this new “pope” saying he is going to make changes to the Lords Prayer. Who the fuck is he to do that?!

And the ACTUAL Bible was around for centuries before that. Read and used by the Catholic and Orthodox Churches. King James didn't compile the Bible or decide what books were canonical or not (he lacked the authority). He did have an incomplete translation put out though.

GOD AND JESUS ARE NOT THE SAME YOU BAGFFHATJARMARYMARYYMKARKM

No what screams cult to me is how everyone goes batshit when the pope comes to town.
He’s the boss of the church not God himself.

Do not confuse the humanity of the Church with the divinity of the Church

The changes he proposed are actually a better translation, it's nothing controversal.

Ok right after I finish John

pretty incredible huh?

>God and Jesus are the same thing
Holy fuck I hate catholics

Attached: lion.jpg (1105x765, 165K)

Merkel and the dominant partei is Lutheran you fucking Paganigger

Have you STUDIED the Bible or just read a few verses that seem to contradict each other?

Also check this out if you want to know more about the Church of the Apostles and their immediate successors
youtu.be/2kAHwie7lmM

Water ice and gas are the same thing why is that so easy to understand and not the Trinity?

I'm for Christian unity, get out of religion etc., But damn OP has a point here

>God and Jesus are different things

Leave it to Sweden

Trade you
This is why I don’t trust the Vatican
youtu.be/i_8sIq50gsI

I have read the entire bible twice. I can't say I have studied it. The general message it tries to get across is pretty uniform, however there are contradictions. I'm not for or against bible. Not claiming it's the literal word of god or that it's a completely made up kike tool for control. I think it's a pretty neat book for guiding you when it comes to how you should behave an think though.

>believing in 2000 year old desert semite tales

Attached: pepesmugslug.png (420x387, 11K)

I believe somewhere in the Bible it says “don’t change anything”.

Try and refute this
youtube.com/watch?v=8ZvZ-PDmNNU

The only point OP has is the tip of the cock in his mouth, see

"Forgive us our tresspasses" was already a change, the original was "forgive us our debts", debts being a jewish pun for sins.

The change is more true to the original

Then I hope you can read ancient greek faggot, because there's no translation without at least some changes in meaning.

Holy fuck, and all these faggots are ignoring this

Alright brother s here's a verse, the tounge is full of death dealing poison
-Jesus

Protestants don’t read Koine. BTFO.

This is jewish d and c but also true

Fuck off ahmed.
