Starting with Genesis 1:1 is a mistake really. It's like trying to redpill an absolute normie by starting off with "Hitler did nothing wrong." It's basically too big of a redpill to be the first one you swallow and so your brain shuts down like "nah dude can't handle it" so you reject the information being input into it. When people tell me they're interested in reading the Bible I recommend to start with the Book of Ephesians first. Two reasons, one, the Book of Ephesians only takes 15-20 minutes to read in it's entirety unless you are brainlet, so it gives you a feeling of accomplishment right off the bat that you're able to read an entire book of the Bible from the first word to the final. Second, the Book of Ephesians is the book that equips you with the proper mindset to approach the entire rest of the Bible with.

After Ephesians I would recommend reading The Gospel According to John, then Acts (which is a continuation of the same events that begin in the Gospel), then Revelation According to John. When you then understand how everything ends, it is easier to understand how everything began. Then I would recommend reading the other 3 Gospels, and comparing each to the Gospel According to John as you do. After you've read these books you can go back to Genesis 1:1 if you'd like.

The Bible is not a thriller novel, you don't need to start with the first page to understand the plot, and it's probably best that you don't because if you do you're probably going to get bored before you even make it to Jeremiah and then you will never read the Gospels which are the most important books of the Bible.
