Exchanges of bodily fluids are intimate and private. Wear a light cover if breastfeeding in public. Sacred relationship. Don't make a spectacle of self or child. May also disturb/blindside onlooking women who have lost children or could not breastfeed.

Only in cases of necessity. Better questions are, why is an infant still on the teat, out in public? Why does the mother not choose to relocate to a discrete and quiet private area? Etc.
My views on this have changed somewhat since I actually had a kid and my wife breastfeeds him. But as a general rule, she’s not keen on whipping her tits out in public seeing as she’s not a whore. If we are out, like at church or a restaurant or something, she either goes to a private room or goes to the car. Once the kid is a few months old they get really distracted anyway. Having a quiet, private place helps them eat better. Breastfeeding in the middle of public really is whore-attention-getting-tier behavior. You have options, and if you think you don’t have options, you planned poorly.
Breastfeeding is a special, sacred thing imo. Incredible release of bonding hormones besides the nutritional and immune system boosting stuff. I absolutely love seeing my kid eat. Makes me see all those Virgin Mary and child pics in a different light.
