>2 Canadians Kidnapped In Kumasi
>Two Canadian women are believed to have been kidnapped in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital and taken to an unknown place, it has been has gathered.
>The young women, who are said to be part of a volunteer group working in Ghana, were reportedly kidnapped on Monday night near the Vienna City Restaurant at Ahodwo, a residential area in Kumasi.
>The victims, with one identified as Lauren, were forced into a waiting car by their abductors after stepping out of their apartment at Silver Spring Avenue at about 8:30 pm.
>The kidnappers have not contacted the victim’s relations, who have since lodged a complaint with the Ridge Police Station for swift action even though the police in the region have not commented on the matter.
>In April 25, an Indian businessman, Om-Prakash, 31, was kidnapped and held by the gangsters who demanded ransom of $500,000 from his family.

>In the latest case, the Canadian nationals are said to be in touch with police to rescue Lauren and her other colleague, who are on an exchange programme with the Entrepreneurship Department of the Kumasi Technical University (KTU).
According to police, the victim’s family paid no money to the suspects who managed to escape arrest.
