I have yet to encounter a declawed cat. I'm 57 years old. I doubt I'd have much in common with someone who'd do that to a cat. No, I'm not an animal lover and I don't particularly like cats. But anyone who mutilated their pet is just using a living creature as a toy and making it defenseless and totally dependent on it's owner. kinda like what your owner, the state, did to you when it cut off your balls.

The only declawed cat I ever encountered was a friend’s that they adopted from a shelter. Everyone I’ve talked to about it thinks declawing cats is inhumane and cruel.

What most cat owners do is take them to the Vet to have a professional shave down the sharp parts. It makes the animal handle-able and child safe. For a personal record; the majority of cats I've personally encountered still have their claws sharp.

My cat is kind of retarded. She would always get her claws stuck because she didn’t know how to retract them. She’s afraid of the world and only goes outside for a couple of minutes a day. Most cases I would never declaw a cat it was an outdoor cat.

I've never declawed any of my cats. If you start trimming their claws when they're young they'll get used to it and it will be easier when they're older.
