It is that bad. Ranchers who own ranches all along the border, along with those further inland, have illegals walking through them constantly. It's not uncommon to see human waste, garbage, or clothing strewn about under mesquite trees on your property. Slightly more uncommon, but not completely unheard of, is watching illegal aliens just walk past your front porch, in plain sight.

They're very ballsy, and they know if you gun them down, they'll either be replaced the next day, or the few hiding in the brush with other guns will start shooting you back. It infuriates me when they start killing livestock for food, especially cattle, since each one is worth a lot of money.
We've also learned to keep our doors unlocked when we're not there. When illegal aliens make there way through your property, if you aren't home, they absolutely will go inside your house and use it. If you leave it unlocked, they'll use the front door and there won't be any problems. However, if you lock the door, they'll rip it off the hinges, smash windows, whatever, to get into your home. Obviously, when leaving, you take all your valuables, (from jewelry all the way down to the bedsheets and coffee pot) and just pray they don't break anything.

Moving 6000 troops down to the border isn't a solution. The Mexicans need a wall along their 500+ mile border with Guatemala/Belize. The USA then needs a wall along the southern border as well. Neither of those two things is going to happen and the 6000 Mexican military won't stay at the border for long. The border wall will never happen and neither will mandatory e-verify.

Or we can have an invisible wall by severely penalizing employers who hire anyone who is illegal, but no that would be too simple. So lets instead play charades and circle jerk over a border which will never get finished and when the VAST MAJORITY of illegals coming into this country are through overstay visas.

Border crossing is now in the hundreds of thousands per year--that figure would drop severely with a wall. The border crossers are absolutely the people you do NOT want coming into the country. No education, fluent only in Spanish but many cannot read or write to proficiency in their own language, nothing to offer and completely unemployable in a Spanish-speaking country, let alone here.
