Also Americans travel for family and jobs. Europeans travel for leisure.

Ryanair London to Rome is currently €23.15. The meal you buy when you get there is probably going to be more expensive.

Bigger country, worse logistics lots of smaller airports that are supported by smaller operations.

Also as a leaf our airspace is expensive bto fly in so much so that some airlines fly less efficient routes just to avoid it. And our airport fees are insanely high.

easyJet to most places in Europe is £40-£70 return, even expensive countries like Switzerland
