There is no modern IRA (a few knackers calling themselves the IRA doesn't make them so) and the Irish Republican movement is completely taken over by leftists. Not that they weren't always socialist, but at least they were nationalist as well. Now Sinn Féin have openly disavowed nationalism and want to make Ireland a multicultural republic. The National Party is the only party in Ireland that wants to keep Ireland Irish and most people haven't heard of them.

For the most part, no. There were some socialists like James Connolly but they were a very insignificant minority. It wasn't until the 1950/60s that the IRA as as a whole began to adopt socialist principles.
