There are a lot of bad surface stations in the US like this. At first, they were in a grassy field, now next to air conditioners. That gives a net warming effect.
Berkeley Earth just used a semantic fallacy to dismiss this and re-crunched the bad data.
The bad data was used to re calibrate the satellite data, and viola! The warming is now world wide.

there's a very simple red pill that everyone already fucking knows, you just gotta connect the dots. pretty much everyone has a smart phone. they all have weather apps. we all check them. we all know how often they cannot get tomorrow's forecast right. hint: they still rarely get it right.

there were MASSIVE threads about those stations back in the day. i saw literally HUNDREDS of different stations set up in violation of standard codes for them. it's one of those topics that just sorta drops off. i should have saved the mountain of pics and spec sheets about those stations.
so, not only was their original data heavily flawed and invalid, they modified the data on top of that for their doomsday reports.

TL;DW (from what I gather):
Climate is heavily affected by sunpots/solar minimum and maximums, and volcanoes.
NASA says we are going into a deep solar minimum (almost no sunspots) 2019-2020.
Less sunspots means less magnetic field/charged particles hitting Earth.
Atmosphere shrinks slightly and upper layer cools a bit.
More cosmic rays hit Earth, causing cloud nucleation (cloud seeding).
Clouds reflect some sunlight away.
20th century saw LOTS and LOTS of sunspot activity and very little global size volcanic activity - volcanic ash blocks sunlight (like nuclear winter).
20th century was getting hot asf as a result.
Might be warm/increasing temps for a few years still because El Nino is a 4/5 year warming cycle.
Earth could cool down soon.

and it's over 90% of it, perhaps as much as 95%.
O2 is about 20% of the gasses in our atmosphere. humans need about 19.5% O2 in order to live. plants are the same way, but with CO2 instead. i don't have great data on it, but there's a similar point at which plants can no longer survive. i reckon we're as close to that floor as we are with O2 for us.
