Ah fuck I didn't group them as triplets. I thought they were individual characters. If we include spaces, that would be 4^3 = 64 characters. Which seems to line up with 62 (letters of the alphabet) pretty well.

The door is some kind of binary. The key is a code I’ve not seen that will end up being sets of 3 numbers for each character in octal form then further translated into the key for the door
