As a Jew, I grew up in a house with a hidden Safe Room - stocked with guns, food, separate emergent communication systems, etc.
As I was building my own house, I wrestled with the idea of a Safe Room, but ultimately decided against it, following the line of thought that I by building one I was simply doing exactly what the anti-semites want - being scared.
Anyways, I now have 2 kids, and ... have since built a Safe Room, and proceeded to load it up with guns and survival goodies.
I'm certainly not 'proud' that I felt this room was necessary, but it helps my wife and especially kids sleep better at night. My kids are anti-semitic nonsense all the time, and are too young to realize that those spewing it are just scared, poor, uneducated hill people who really aren't a threat to anyone - they just can't find ways to improve their own lives, so they choose to play the victim.
