Videogames are unironically based until a certain point. Part of the reason I am what I am is because I used to play CS/Quake with the lads (all chill white guys) back in the early 2000's. I grew out of them by 20 years of age though, simply cause they stopped being fun.

Unironically find a hobby that you can turn into a profitable career.

This. Gaming was a huge part of my life from getting an Atari 2600 back in 1980 through about 1999 when I’d get together with the old gang to set up LAN parties to play Quake for 2 days straight. After that, by my mid-20s, it just ended because I had started to find enough enjoyment outside of my small living space, just couldn’t get back into gaming after that. Trust me, I tried, but the joy is gone from it now. The most “gaming” I get now is when I play sudoku on my iPad while taking a shit, and after 15 minutes, it’s done.

My man. And besides, call me a boomer but games just stopped being fun in general. Early CS, Quake, SC:BW, Warcraft 3, Diablo. All that stuff was the bomb, and now it seems like all kids play is some flavor of the month online PvP game with micro-transactions that is replaced in 2 months.

And if you want an expansion on this good ideas are - welding, carpentry, etc. You can start all this at your house for a smaller investment than a good gaming computer, you'll have more fun and be proud of your advancements and accomplishments. You can also constantly get side work for great extra cash.

Can confirm. I mostly work alone now after getting burned several times by entitled wierdos. There are peopme oit there who pose as artists and just want to steal your peoject/money or sue you. A lot of hipsters got into the industry because they like the idea of being a games developer while having no math, programming or level design skills. Look at the original ID Software team - every one of them was a well read nerd who had been programming for over a decade.
