Why do we have to deal with shitty infrastructure and falling out of date with the rest of the world?
America is practically third world these days.
Why don't we do big engineering projects anymore?

what projects?
railways are a meme
We are birds and we like to fly. That's why we don't have bullet trains.
Because you have $22 trillion dollars worth of debt after decades of welfare and wars
How about hyperloops or basic cultural shit like pic related
>hyperloop
waste of money
>basic cultural shit
waste of money
we can start building golden monuments once traffic disappears from the history books
>waste of money
Maybe to you, unimaginative faggot
Hyperloop is a way better investment for curing traffic than self driving cars. That shits going to make traffic worse with more vehicles sharing the road with normies.
And cultural shit always has a place. Those trees bring in massive amounts of tourism revenue.
chinese subways are amazing, wish we had that here
>That shits going to make traffic worse with more vehicles sharing the road with normies.
that's why I said we need to fix the traffic issue instead of burrowing underground for hundreds of miles, we already have airplanes for high speed travel and we dont need to burrow or lay rail lines, the costs for those projects are off the charts and give you no advantage, not to mention those projects are cost runups
>And cultural shit always has a place
it has a place once poverty is eliminated, just today day I drove into LA and there were homeless people living in tents on the sidewalks
Sucking jewish cock and gibs to niggers is the priority, people.
Big Auto
Big Oil
Too busy paying to protect Israel and import darkoids
Again, unimaginative
Planes are unsuitable for short distance trips like commuting
Trains can't get built anymore because of eminent domain issues
That's where hyperloop works because its going under properties
Point to point hyperloop can be built all over in the same time a train would be built and for lower cost
Then you just do local mass transportation to deal with the last mile(s)
As for cultural shit, I'm just tired of our country not having beautiful shit to be proud of. It's a good thing our national parks grow on their own.
Daily reminder to bow to your Han gods.
In the United States we have/had a powerful trucking Lobby that was able to use our Legislative branch to promote trucks over trains do to job creation. Trains require less people per pond of cargo. Trains = less jobs, so congressman promise more jobs they get more votes everyone wins.
Everyone except the general population
daily reminder this thread comes up every hour
Link them to me if it comes up that often
That's right, you can't, namefag nigger
freeways can be built at a fraction of the cost of a hyperloop per mile and can actually connect to local infrastructure such as roads and other freeways
america IS third world sweetie
you spend all your money for the jews
Based
>white minority
>big engineering projects that are safe
You can only pick one user
>over half the country is serviced by one rail line
The absolute state of China. As for the OP, it's because we already did all the big engineering projects we needed to do for now. You think we're lazy but we're just resting up.
china bankrupted itself building all of this infrastructure over the last 20 years for a population that is old and dying and wasnt ready for it/didnt ask for it. they are the sole reason the world didnt sink into financial collapse after 2008. they went on a wild spending spree, and now the good times are over. all of that infrastructure is going to crumble--but we'll get some good webms out of the deal.
Freeways add noise and depress property values
Also, not high enough speed
>Freeways add noise and depress property values
not an issue with more noise insulation in newer properties and cars
>Also, not high enough speed
traffic is a larger issue than speed, also the speed is bottlenecked by the fact that the hyperloop cannot connect to local roads and freeways so there is a waiting period and a dependency on roads anyways
It could be so beautiful.
Imagine if you could get across the country in just a few hours, for $20-$30.
It's unironically possible with rail.
Airships, small boats, passanger drones, light railways, water planes, hanging trains,...
china is more third world than the US, and we have literal niggers and spics.
looks like fucking trash. are you jewish or just a weeb?
>hey, let's build a national high speed rail structure
>look at all this open land in the middle of nowhere to build our new railroad lines
>oh wait, that's farmland? who cares about them, let's eminent domain it. its not like those farmers matter, we have political power in the cities
>alright, we're reached the edge of the metro area
>fuck your suburb homes, eminent domain
>fuck, we gotta get around, they got high level attorneys and political power to stop the original path
>shit, this is raising the cost to build than originally planned
>okay, we've found a path to get into the city core. i'm sure the poor neighborhoods would like a payment to move elsewhere
>well shit, we just had our costs raised because some lawyer groups representing the people of color just sued us, and made us look like racists
>this is taking longer and costing more than planned
>hey china, how did you make your rail network?
China: We took people's land, because we said so. Questions were answered with tanks.
It will be first world very soon.
tax the rich
Cool. Now do one with hyperloop and nobody losing their lands
I wonder how many lines are supported by styrofoam
>tfw you will never be able to take a scenic daytrip across the country by high-speed rail
>trusting chinese infrastructure
Where did this forced meme come from?
>merica infer srukshers is 3rd werld
K sweaty
Because the last time we did it was the highway system during the cold war for people to be able to escape the meltdown in the cities and China is a developing nation so please compare apples and bananas.
Right-of-Way acquisition to build above the ground still means eminent domain will be required.
Our rail infrastructure is top notch for freight. It was meant to move bulk, not people at a high speed.
American railroads and cities were all built in the 20's and 30's and they never improved them. NYC looks like a joke compared to Shenzhen.
Why would you want to build above the ground where people could fuck with the tubes?
For endpoints just run them with existing rail or commuter endpoints
Fixing traffic is hard, but it is possible with not-so-big changes. But it requires real humans trying to solve the problem, not zog golems.
Because the West has decided to babysit double digit populations that cost to much to keep. I hope that stops but it doesn't look good.
