Liberals are gung-ho about supposedly leveling the playing field between men and women. A big part of this is destroying traditional norms about family structure and gender roles, to supposedly give men and women the same ruleset for life achievement. A woman having a kid automatically makes her a caretaker as her primary job, above everything else. Granting women the choice to kill their unborn children is viewed as an equalizer in society, removing the perceived burden of being "stuck" raising children from women, allowing them to break through that glass ceiling and all become PhD astronauts and corporate CEOs, just like those pesky men. Remember, it's the injustice in society that keeps women down, and the greatest injustice of all is the biological curse of reproduction.

The more nasty libs see it as a means of attack against the traditional family structure that they think somehow wronged them in their youths. Much of the feminist grrrl powrr side-shaven purple hair movement is just an outcry of "I'm mad at dad" sentiment from ugly women and crazies. The roots of modern liberalism are an outgrowth of communist revolutionary theory - destruction and subversion of what came before is necessary before the revolution can truly begin. Crashing the ship that is traditional family values and gender roles with no survivors is part of this goal.

Liberals HATE personal responsibility. They value the state over the individual. Why should any woman be responsible for raising a child because she got drunk one night and fucked some guy at a bar? Liberals favor top-down societal control and want everything bubble wrapped and safety netted. Sexuality and screwing around drunk are viewed as sacrosanct human rights, not serious reproductive events with enormous consequences. Abortion is an attempt to nerf coat the significant pitfalls of free and open sexuality, and it serves as the final nuclear option that enables this behavior.

The grand irony in this is that at least in the US, blacks and hispanics, who are the liberal's human pets and favorite voters, abort their kids at astounding rates. Just under 50% of black pregnancies end in abortion in the USA.

In the case of the so called "millennials" that everyone blames for every problem in the world now, they are pro abortion because that's what they are taught to believe. Two to three generations before them that raised them and influenced their thinking are gung-ho on abortion, so they are too. It's not their fault, most millennial women are the product of the schooling they received and haven't really thought things through for themselves at all.

You should be asking why boomer and gen x women were so gung ho on abortion, not blaming it all on the 30-somethings.
